Knob Fire Grows to 1,236 Acres Forcing Evacuations in Both Humboldt and Trinity Counties
Original post: According to the Northern California Geographic Coordination Center, the Knob Fire which began on Sunday has swallowed 1,236 acres mostly of brush and timber and is still 0% contained.
The fire burned moderately active today. Over 1000 structures are reported to be threatened. As of noon today, about 200 personnel were on scene fighting the fire which began on Sunday.
Multiple evacuation orders and warnings have been issued in both Humboldt and Trinity counties. The number of people who have been displaced is likely in the thousands. (See evacuation information below.) And, over one thousand more are without power roughly between Willow Creek in Humboldt County and Cedar Flat in Trinity County.
Reports from witnesses indicate at least one non residential structure burned yesterday but there has been no official report.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature tonight should have a low around 50 degrees and there will be a north northeast wind blowing around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.
The Roads:
Hwy 299 is still open through Willow Creek but there are restrictions further east due to the Monument Fire. See here: Road Closure Area on 299 Changes
The following road closures are in effect related to the Knob Fire:
- China Creek Road at Hodgson Road;
- Burwood Drive at State Route 299;
- Gypo Lane at State Route 299.

- The Evacuation Center is at the Seventh Day Adventist Church 1200 Central Ave, McKinleyville, CA.
- Large animal evacuation: Large animals: horses, cattle, are welcome at the Hoopa Rodeo Grounds. There are plenty of paneled pens, water and feed there. We have foster homes prepared for sheep and goats, but you should call ahead to arrange. We can haul for you if needed. Animals we can’t house include cats, dogs, fowl, however we’re happy to help find fosters, crates, feed, if needed. Call (707)492-2851.

The PG&E service zone goes to Del Loma, so the power is out all the way to Del Loma in Trinity County.
No, because Del loma is on independently operating whisper watt generators At the moment, provided by the power company until the poles are repaired.
I believe that was Enchanted Springs lane, not Enchanted Creek. The fire came with in feet of our houses and these amazing fire fighters saved our neighborhood!!! They are working hard defending the Right Spot trailer Park now. The 299 as of 7:30pm was controlled traffic from Willow Creek to Salyer. 20-30 minute wait times.
