HCSO Identifies Wade Harris as the Man Found Shot Dead on Old Harris Road in Southeastern Humboldt

Wade Harris

Wade Harris

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Also, while on the scene, deputies located and detained one male subject. The subject declined to provide a statement to law enforcement.

Deputies collected evidence on scene and the subject was released pending further investigation.

An autopsy of Harris is scheduled for August 18.

More information regarding this investigation will be released as available and appropriate.

Wade succeeded in living his life to the fullest. He loved to rob and steal from Humboldt County Citizens. He lived his life with adventure and passion. One thing I am sure all of you would like to do is to die doing exactly what you love doing; and thats what Wade Did; he died doing what he loved and lived to do; stealing from his community. We can even call Wade Harris Successful! Lets rejoice in the fact he died doing what he loved: robbing and stealing!

Kym, do you have ready access to a “greatest hits” album on Harris, and/or a listing of current charges against him pending in the courts?

I’m also super hopeful that his family will sue the court system / jail for releasing him… maybe he’d still be alive if he was locked up like he should have been. That might could be enough to make them actually start doing their jobs. Can you even sue “the court”? Judges probably have some sort of exemption.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a way better solution; but looking forward maybe the system can step up and protect victims so new victims don’t have to live with that heavy burden.

Sure, the courts have some blame for releasing him over… and over… and over…

But c’mon. If he hadn’t made such terrible life choices, he wouldn’t have needed to come before the court in the first place. Put the blame where it truly belongs – at his own two feet.

But a government that actually serves the people cannot afford an inflated military presence worldwide, and govern its own people to the best and highest good. How can we not enforce our – x-(put whatever you want for “x”) worldwide, through violence, intimidation, and intentional, coordinated, worldwide neglect, without the might of the arms forced to back it up. How can we express freedom all over those damn heathen forces without it? If that’s directed at me, you got me wrong. Dude is of course responsible for his actions, and he gets to reap the results in Hades now. In fact, I’m making memes using his booking pics. He’s a world class shitbird and a real menace to good people. Correction: he WAS.

What I was saying is that the jail refuses to hold people, Maggie refuses to file cases when the jail actually does hold them, the courts refuse to toss these dirtbags into prison when Maggie actually files a case; [edit] In fact, in my perfect little world, not only would Wade’s grieving family (’cause everyone loves they baby, even if they baby is a d-bag) sue the jail, courts and Maggie, but the person that had to shoot him would sue the jail, courts and Maggie for putting him in the position of having to do that. What’s the mental fatigue that he’s going to live with worth? A few million at least.

Making these failed systems pay money is the only way they will learn to do their jobs.

Wanting to reallocate funds into systems that are proven to be effective, would appear to be less than ideal from the point of anyone who cannot see that what we’ve been doing for years doesn’t work, hasn’t worked, has never worked. That lack of recognition is part of the breakdown. The overlooking of the buffoonery, the weird finger-pointing justifications. The late night tweets about foreign leaders and domestic policy. The same tweets that damage both. No responsibility, only blame. The lack of action on our part, and on our behalf as a public. It’s all part of the breakdown…. This guy needs to have a shoe thrown at him. He’s Clownshoes. BUSH (J.H.W.B. Jr) had a shoe thrown at him. Throw a shoe at this guy maybe he’ll shape up. Anyway don’t get too worked up about what’s going to happen. They’re not going to to do anything because they’re too wrapped up, burning our time and money Trying to decide who’s going to give us how much, or how little of our money, and who’s name will ultimately be on it. Fuck them. They’re like self chumming sharks.. More than happy to play the game jump off the top ropes for the camera. But won’t take the time, nor make the effort to study what real, unglamorous, infrastructure exists, the money flow within its district, for the betterment of the people governed.. But we’re not going to do anything, because we never have. Doing stuff is for other places. We express our freedom at other countries. We virtually spew it. We need to understand just a bit deeper what we should be the most free from.

Although I don’t live in the area I’ve actually shown a bunch of news articles from this website to my friend who works narcotics for a living. He’s seen all the big heroin busts and is well aware of the Wade Harris phenomenon (As well as many other local legends). Long story short he said there is no doubt the drug agents in your area have an “Extensive” network of informants. The local prosecutors would be part of these arrangements as well. The size of your dope busts for a county with a relatively small populations is very uncommon.

If by “special” you mean that Humboldt County has one of the highest property crime rates in the state, here are your stats. “The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Fortuna is 1 in 28. Based on FBI crime data, Fortuna is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to California, Fortuna has a crime rate that is higher than 88% of the state’s cities and towns of all sizes.” (Best Places.net) “. Namely, among cities with a population of at least 20,000, Eureka has the highest property crime rate in the state” (Lost Coast Outpost.com)

So a little reality check. cops do NOT decide what charges to file, who goes or stays in jail or even how long they stay in prison. Cops only arrest on probable cause and submit a report of facts the DA actually files charges based upon information gathered. the old cops let em go due to snitching is a myth. The courts and DA have let people out for 30+ years that should have stayed in prison. Years ago they let a child molester have probation that was HIV+ and the cops wanted that guy put away for life. It was in the paper late 90s or early 2000.

It is no wonder so many people like him come up dead or missing. If the cops are not allowed to do their job people will begin to protect their homes, family and community the best they can legal or not.

Most police officers are just as frustrated as the citizens in this state. They’re literally not able to do their jobs because of the beocracy they’re controlled by. The police department and the court system has been turned into a revenue generator for the stat. This is why you’ll see multiple police units searching a person on their way to work in the morning on the side of the freeway. While less than a mile away numerous bums conjugate in the middle of town defecating and urinating on the streets, while doing drugs with not so much as a order to move on..

Local Farmer,
Wade was a lot of things but I guarantee you he was not a snitch,
you go ahead and say your b******* that you don’t know nothing about but remember if you didn’t know him as a personal friend you shouldn’t talk shit that is not true.

Wade had more heart and more respect for his real friends than most of you people that talk s*** on here.

What makes him any different than most of you,
Maybe he took things that didn’t belong to him but it’s no worse then most of you who grow it illegally and sell it on the black market !
A felony is a felony so what makes you any better than him.

Next time you want to flap your mouth about something you know nothing about,
Then maybe you should take the time to to really know the person that you are talking s*** about.
I guarantee you, if you got to meet him and know him I’m sure you would have liked the guy.

Wade was a father, and son, a brother, and a very good friend
And he will be deeply missed.

THE WORLD IS A DANGEROUS PLACE, NOT BECAUSE OF THOSE WHO DO EVIL, BUT BECAUSE OF THOSE WHO LOOK ON AND DO NOTHING
While I realize his family and friends loved him and will miss him, I also hope that they realize that he was so far down the road of self destruction that he was a threat to all including himself. My family was one of the many that he terrorized. It started with him trespassing on our rural property, a dangerous confrontation which turned into months of him stalking us, threatening and pulling fire arms on us. It was all reported and in the end he did very little time and was soon back out in society stealing and assaulting people. It’s a shame the justice system couldn’t have handled this appropriately and gotten him some rehabilitation. Where ever he went he was high, Armed, dangerous and looking to take what someone else had worked for. Who ever did this, has actually made many, many people feel safer and probably saved some lives.

@Guest/pdftt or whoever it is that is attacking Kym Kemp. First off, he has had a gun on him and brandished it or fired shots in almost every incident in Sohum. During the Shivley police chase he hit and ran a car with a mother and daughter in it. He has also killed people, just nothing became of it because it was all in the drug world. He also tied up and beat an older man in Redcrest where there was No Weed at all! So trust me, you don’t know him as well as you think. There were so many pics of him from security cameras from all over our town trying to get in peoples houses, we learned every car he drove. The Sheriff’s told us to do this. He was a serial home/property intruder. And intruders should and always will be seen as a high risk threat! Kym was a local hero by helping everyone including law enforcement by reporting so well on him. And there were so many other encounters that didn’t even make the news. Kym would only report things that were reported to LEO. he’s lucky she didn’t report everything she heard off record! She was as fair as she could be. Between Kym’s reporting and neighborhood watch groups that again the Sheriff’s told us to create, we ultimately created a high sense of awareness for him and others criminals. And will continue to do so. And there is no regretting our community effort to stay informed, United, and protected. And Unless you were actually with him or dropped him off to attempt his robbery gone bad than how can you say for a fact that he wasn’t armed when he was caught and killed ? We’re you really there? Is that why his rig was seen the next day? Because you were driving it back from a robbery gone bad? And what do you mean it was a set up? How does that work? Did they put up a sign that said Lots Of weed to steal -this way — knowing he might be around and couldn’t resist? You do realize he just was caught ripping off another farm a week ago? Trying to convince us that Wade was safe man and just wanted to politely steal is simply a lie.

You people and your lies of him coming with guns is complete bullshit. Was Wade a big tough guy? Are you all that big of sissies you need a gun to defend yourself against him? This was flat out a set up planned and dope growers with sohum egos that had to hunt another human down and shoot him multiple times when he had no weapon and wasn’t going to hurt any of you. Wheres all the marijuana and stolen things he was out they way so said stealing in that area as public facebook posts were posted? Wade Harris was set up and sent out there to be hunted by you sohum criminal dope growers that most have cocaine, pill, drinking, or all the above problems yourself. Im sickened and disgusted by the things you so called good people you think you are have the nerve to comment with. I can’t wait until the real criminal dangerous rips offs show up and do what you lie and say Wade was capable of. Then what? Whos your next victim on your list to murder? May your crops become seeded or mother nature give you hell and your greed seeds loss your profits cause murders belong in jail. I would rather have a Wade Harris around than humans who hunt and gun another unarmed human down.

This is good news, it shows one more example of why we need to defund the cops and free the prisons; society will take care of the troublemakers and thieves. There is absolutely no point in funding police, instead people need to begin policing their own communities and enforcing their town rules. We wouldn’t have these druggies all over town if we left it to community policing at night. Take back our Humboldt Streets.

Evading the police at dangerous speeds, evading while driving the wrong way on a highway is incredibly violent and shows zero concern for the lives of others. If he had crashed into other vehicles, with innocent people in them, there could have been many deaths at his hands. And that’s not even mentioning drawing weapons on people . It’s sad a family has lost a son and a brother and father, but he didn’t do anything to avoid this inevitable outcome, he seemed to rush right into it.

Thank you for helping to put some perspective in this. I always wonder how much was fact or urban legend. Like the propane torch burning the porch railing. Seems like this would have effectively burned the place down. Always the potential the torching could have been done after the fact to make him look even worse.

He went to the arcata police when his name was coming across scanner and proved to them hey ? im right here so you know its not me running or driving the car. There’s others she keeps up that are also not true. But believe everything you read people and think murder is okay and your safe now Wades dead. That’s money related deaths actually. Blaming some tweeker ripoffs death on weed is ignorant. But hey let’s blame the guy who had to defend his place against a home invasion because he grows weed. “…blaming a woman’s body for someone trying to rape her”

This here illustrates the all-too-common perspective of those who choose weed farming as their profession: you live your entire life in a self-enclosed, self-serving cultural bubble wherein comparisons like this make perfect sense. It sounds like this guy got what was coming to him (for a long time). However, illicit weed growers are not good guys either. Normal people understand this.

Your weed is not a human body.

“I’ve read your many comments.”

You “read” them, alright. Just not very closely. Review my above comment again. See the word “illicit”? Maybe you skipped that one. I’m talking about illegal grows, man. Illegal. I realize the operation in this particular article was permitted. My point is that the legacy of illegal marijuana in this county, which is responsible for staggering levels of environmental pollution and social rot, doesn’t just go away when the trade becomes legal. I’m wholly supportive of permitted grows. But I’d bet a whole lot of those growers started out as illegal, and they will never be held accountable for practicing a black-market trade that has attracted the vast majority of this area’s criminality. For decades.

“You must be an LEO”

I love this. It’s an excellent illustration of the self-enclosed bubble I mentioned above (you read that part, I hope): in a grower’s mind, anyone who is critical of the growing cultural (for the above reasons I pointed out) MUST be in law enforcement. Because the ordinary, honest, and tax-paying members of the public think growers are HEROES. Trust me, friend, most people unconnected to the trade don’t view growers in flattering terms (again, for the above reasons).

Do you know any cops that write like this? There’s your answer.

I remember you also: you’re one of the people who’s frequently here lamenting the “injustice” of busting giant, exploitative, polluting, greed-factory grows. Or, as you call them, “mom and pop” grows…

SmallFry

Yeah, there are a lot of “ legal” grows and farms out there are equally environmentally destructive. And that doesn’t pertain to just cannabis specifically. There are good people on either side of “legal” cannabis cultivation. Having a “permit for cultivation” doesn’t make one a Saint. I am fairly certain Humboldt would have fallen even deeper into “social rot” without cannabis cultivation, as other sources of resources for the county like timber, and such have been grossly mismanaged, and sent into a state of disparity. 90% of the Redwoods Are gone. Green diamond doesn’t even mill the limited resources they take here anymore… it is most likely sent straight to China. No doubt the green rush has its share of bullshit… but to blame all of Humboldts problems and economic failures on “illegal cultivation” is also short sided….

Don’t wonder. There any number of apprehended criminals in Eureka who are repeatedly released with court dates before the arresting officer gets back to the station. The only difference is it takes less time to be re arrested because of the drive time in the hills means its easier to get away with crap.. Which is of course why so many illegal pot growers are out there in the first place.

This is an important issue, because many people seem to feel that vigilante justice is needed, so it affects everyone. You are lucky, some of us weren’t. You clearly have no idea how it feels to be terrified to go home, so you don’t. He was a horrible human. There was no hunting wade, I seen that on the local watch page about the CB’s and you are exagerating it to the extreme. he was a thief, a bold meth head thief, and if you steal from enough people eventually you get shot. I’ll buy that man That shot him a drink as soon as he walks out of the courthouse, which I don’t imagine will be long if he’s not out already. That’s what happens in a justified homicide. I think the video is instructive for all of us who consider ourselves revolutionaries of one sort or another. I have been pondering the myth of innocence that we all try to paint our lives (and our revolutionary urges) with. I will be thinking about these scenes for a long time.
That I recall I’ve only ever directly seen one person kicked in the head; it was a cop kicking a passed out drunk man. Both of them were white.

Yeah, it was pretty violent to see those actions, there was another protester in the video who also dragged the guy out of the street when he was unconscious. Having friends and family in Portland as well, I have to say, I have had angry right wing folks in vehicles try to “run” people and Protestors down on several occasions. Unprovoked. One guy was stopped at a red light, ran the red light and smashed to bits my friends antique bike… almost causing great Bodily injury and all in front of a cop who did nothing.. and let the guy go! All unprovoked. I don’t think the solution would have been To return violence.. but I did want to not see him not hurt Anyone else.. so what do ya do? Seems to me the video may only be telling one side to the story possibly.. A vehicle can also be a weapon against pedestrians and protestors in situations like that…

I think it was reading Nietzsche that lead me to a commitment to examine myself first (after blaming everyone else before I paused to think) when I took action to “improve the world.”
Funny thing about reading Nietzsche though, the exhilaration of thinking myself superior and the ways he was obviously pointing at other people’s flaws almost lead to weaponized smugness. I understand why his thinking has been seen as dangerously inflammatory.

Self-examination will do that… depending on how far someone takes it.

Well said, and thank you. An educated, thoughtful, and correctly spelled post is such a pleasure among this lot.

Maybe I just wanted to see who would pop up to defend the rioters / terrorists …you did.

There are over 125 comments on Wade …I
We won’t know if there will be charges for the shooting or not…. brought up another bit of violence since you libs won’t ever see it from the MSM.

Tell me Angela why don’t you want people to know?

Did you pick up that nonsense from BLM or make it up yourself? He crashed his truck trying to *avoid* a mob.

The Wade issue has to do with the legality of guns if growing weed, my post has to do with the legality of guns if police aren’t there to protect you , as the video shows,…ok Angela? Don’t think I need your permission to post what I choose.

Now you live in Oregon, yet everything you’ve said about the riots there has been shown to be false….so many videos and tweets all you have to do is google it. Ignorance is one thing deliberate ignorance is another.

Nothing wrong with shinning a light in the darkness. Especially when censors object.

“The original protesters were just trying to detain him then the violent ones showed up”. ..you mean just showed up for the last 80+ days?

Who the hell are they to detain anyone? That’s called kidnapping, nice word play though. Ya, and trying to burn down buildings is JUST a weenie roast right?
Especially if you’re yelling fry em like bacon.

Detaining someone that committed a crime is not kidnapping. Better be right about the crime part though

According to the Portland PD:

“Investigators learned that the victim may have been trying to help a transgender female who had some of her thing stolen in the area of Southwest Taylor and 4th Ave, the location where this incident began. ”

It doesn’t say he was trying to help the trans woman at all dude. Quit twisting shit to fit your narrative. Not defending anyone in the situation either. No idea what happened and you don’t either. It says ppd is still trying to locate a. Trans woman whose shit was stolen where the incident happened. That could mean the guy was involved in stealing the woman’s shit

” may have been” who’s twisting?

Don’t need to have an idea when you see a gang attack and a man kicked in the head like it was a soccer ball. It ain’t right under any circumstances… he wasn’t even fighting back.

It is a quote from the Portland PD press release. If you have something to add you should speak with them.
