[UPDATE 4:35 p.m.] Bluenose Fire Ignites Near Covelo
Flightradar shows fire aircraft overhead.
A wildfire, dubbed the Bluenose Fire, has ignited in northeastern Mendocino County near Reeves Place, northeast of Covelo. The fire was first reported before 4 p.m. and has grown to an estimated four to five acres as of a little after four p.m. The fire is burning at a moderate rate of spread, according to the Air Attack speaking over the scanner.
Tanker 96, the air attack unit, and a helicopter are currently overhead, working to contain the flames. Ground crews are also responding. In addition to the main fire, there is at least one reported spot fire.

UPDATE 4:35 p.m.: According to Air Attack speaking over the scanner, the fire is staying at around 5 acres. Aircraft has dropped retardant around 75% of fire.

Fire area seems a bit distant from the last pin drop from his phone, depending on how well it was triangulated, and if the missing man has been on the move or not over the last eight days…
