Vehicle Crashes Into Redwood Tree, Blocks Northbound 101 Near Confusion Hill

traffic accidentAt about 4 p.m., a vehicle collided with a redwood tree on northbound Highway 101 about two miles south of Confusion Hill temporarily blocking northbound traffic.

According to the California Highway Patrol traffic incident log, the crash was reported to be near mile marker 97.2 in Mendocino County.

The driver is out of the vehicle and speaking with emergency responders but is being described as “walking wounded.” An ambulance is responding.

A patrol unit requested a tow truck to the scene.

Traffic delays are possible as responders work to clear the roadway and investigate the cause of the crash.

Obviously seems to be tourist season with all the first responder activities in the last few days. Be glad they are there, and have the tools to do their job.

We were just ahead of that wreck, timing wise. Saw three CHP and ond G’ville rescueheading towards it.
