Two Eureka Artists Open Their Doors for a Second Weekend of Open Studios
Press release from the George Sennott Studio:
Sennott You Can Never Hold Back Spring cyanotype and watercolor 2025
Libby George and Patricia Sennott are excited to host their second weekend of North Coast Open Studios from 10am to 5pm on this Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14th. They moved into their new space last fall. The George Sennott Studio is located at 618 F Street, within the Eureka Film and Concert Center.
Since 1974, George’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows at galleries in the United States and abroad, including the Morris Graves Museum of Art, Eureka, the California Museum of Art, Luther Burbank Center, Santa Rosa, the University of California, San Francisco, and the College of Art in Kumasi, Ghana, Africa. In George’s own words: “I work with soft pastels and dry pigments, layering color onto rough paper. This textured paper can hold many layers, allowing me to blend for hours. Through this slow, immersive process, I create smooth transitions and explore infinite color possibilities. When viewers connect with my work, I believe it is because they recognize a shared experience, a feeling or a memory seen through the language of color.”

Sennott’s work has been shown widely in Humboldt County, both in solo and group exhibits, and can be found in collections across the US, in Europe, Japan and in Micronesia. Along with watercolor painting and printmaking, she is currently exploring the antique form of photography called Cyanotype, which does not use a camera. After creating sunprints, Sennott often adds watercolor painting to them.
Both of these visual artists are deeply grateful to the board of the Eureka Theater for the opportunity to create in their inspiring, light-filled space and for the Theater’s support that has made it possible. North Coast Open Studios is free and open to the public. Please see www.northcoastopenstudios.com for more info.

Questions? Please contact Patricia (707) 496-1922. Many thanks!!
(The studio name, George Sennott Studio, does not refer to any man. The name is simply the combination of both of their last names, for a little tongue in cheek art mystery.)
