The section of roadway is currently open to one-way controlled traffic. I have no information on injuries at this time.”

The extent of the patients injuries have not been released.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

Ugh! Looks BAD! And RHBB is on-it! Reporting these stories, 24/7…..
I can’t even tell you how many times I have used RHBB just for road reports that have kept me safe, not waiting in long lines, or having to turn around.
That’s just one reason I have recently pledged to donate $10 per month to RHBB in tribute to Kym’s 10 years of providing vital and consequential news / information to us!
JOIN ME IN MAKING A DONATION! A solid way to show Kym our appreciation!! (No doubt more funding will only make this site even better!!).

It was 4 children. My children, thankfully they are ok. My 10 yo was flown to SFU she has a neck fracture and there were six of us in the vehicle. Caltrans went into our lane and hit us. My partner is in the ICU.

I worked for Caltrans a few years ago and would be expected to work nights on construction projects and show up for meetings during the day. Or have 16 hour field days due to driving four hours to project location, surveying, and four hours back. So I’m not surprised but my heart is breaking at the same time. I am so devastated for you and your family.

Danielle, I am so very sorry that you were involved in that bad accident. I pray that your 10-year-old that was flown to SFU will make a complete recovery from her neck injury. Iam hoping your other three children, yourself and a passenger (I guess), are ok. Your GMC pickup being pretty rugged probably saved everyone. If you had been in a small car the outcome would have been bleak. What caused the Caltrans vehicle to go into your lane. Was the driver having a medical issue, mechanical problem with the truck like no brakes, flat tire, speeding, etc. When you see your daughter in SFU please give her a hug (lightly) for me and tell her we all love her a get well soon.

Hi Danielle. I am so sorry this happened to your family. I was the one holding the door open so we could get your husband out of the car. I feel bad because I should have stuck around longer but the off-duty EMT that was right behind me made me feel like things were under control. I am so so frustrated with how long it took for CHP and ambulances to arrive. Please feel free to reach out if you ever want to discuss it further. sending prayers for you all
