A gunshot wound victim was dumped on Bald Hills Road about 10 miles from Hwy 101 at a Cal Fire station about 6:07 p.m., according to the scanner. The vehicle that brought the injured person and the occupants fled the area.

Fire Captain Specialist Jeremy Ward of Cal Fire said the incident was still unfolding but did confirm that emergency personnel and law enforcement responded to the scene and began performing CPR on the victim.

A private medivac helicopter was requested and declined due to weather, according to the scanner. Cal Fire’s helicopter responded to the area of the incident, according to FlightRadar, however, it isn’t clear if they landed. They did not go to a hospital though, they returned to their Kneeland base.

UPDATE 7:02 p.m.: CID, the Criminal Investigation Division, was requested to respond to the scene on Bald Hills Road.

UPDATE 7:43 p.m.: The victim is deceased.

I’m glad to hear they didn’t just leave the poor person to die out in the woods.

I don’t know, I think I’d rather be left to die in the woods than be tossed out of a car like a sack of garbage.

That station, Elk Camp, is off the grid and runs on a generator, doubtful it has cameras..
