13-Year-Old Suffers Head and Wrist Injuries in Fall at Southern Humboldt Community Park

A 13-year-old boy was rescued after falling into a ravine at the Southern Humboldt Community Park west of Garberville Saturday night.

According to scanner traffic, emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 9:39 p.m. after the juvenile reportedly fell into a ravine within the park.

Initial reports indicated the boy had sustained injuries to his wrist and head. By the time emergency personnel arrived, he had been helped out of the ravine. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known, but they were not reported over the scanner as life-threatening.
