[UPDATE] Remains Located on SoHum Property Identified
This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
Ryan Anthony Tanner is the suspect.
The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has identified the remains recovered on Feb. 18, 2020, in the Ettersburg area [on property connected to Ryan Tanner] as that of 33-year-old Jason Todd Garrett of Southern Humboldt County.
Garrett’s cause of death has been determined to be a gunshot wound.
This case is still under investigation. Further information will be released when available and appropriate.

It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that a person could have both things happen but one be the primary cause of death.

Jason had many friends who are in shock and traumatized.
The DHHS office in Garberville will be available for emotional support due this tragic event on Wednesday morning 2/26 for free. They will be sending staff from Semper Virens. All who need it are encouraged to seek help at this time. Some transportation is available.
Rip my friend for real you were one of the realest people I now and it’s sad that now he is gone. It’s not fair all the good ones die and the ass holes live… What’s wrong with this picture I mean really..??? I’ll always have the memories and good times laughter hidden in the BK round.
