Why are people with this level of violent behavior allowed on the loose? Prevention is the key to saving lives.

When someone does acid, nothing they do is real until they come down. I’ve known this kid forever and he was a good kid and my sons good friend until the drugs started. Please, don’t do drugs and talk to your kids about not doing drugs too.

No drug makes anyone a murderer. It’s not meth’s fault. It’s Ryan Tanner’s fault. Stop blaming drugs, guns, “the system”, etc and just hold adults accountable for their own actions.

Correct acid doesn’t make you a murderer but being raped by hobbits might. Ryan told neighbors that hobbits raped him and there was a hobbit village in the woods and he was hunting hobbits with an assault rifle and a 10 foot stick with a flashlight taped to the top of it sideways. More than once in the middle of the night he jumped from the bushes on the side of China creek road at unsuspecting vehicles. The other one is when he was stalking around at night looking for his dog that ran away cause he wasn’t feeding it or beating on it to make it more” protective”. Ryan is a POS. So thankful that WE (the neighborhood)can sleep peacefully knowing he’s not out there anymore.

Gawd, that’s a little nervewracking. Can you imagine if they let that go undealt with in, say, Arcata? Sounds more like bath salts though. The “PCP that never ends”… I swear that’s what Gary Bullock was on when he had his episode.

So sorry this happened and condolences to the victim’s family and friends. And neighbors.

The police were informed on 2 separate. Ocasions. 4 or 5 days before the murder ,that tanner had held two people at gunpoint with an ar15 threatening to kill them if they told the police …then two days later threatening the same neighbor in his own home by putting a gun to his head and accusing him of talking to the police about the earlier incident…..this was all prior to the murder……both crimes were reported and the police told the victim they werent prepared to deal with tanner right now, that the victim should arm himself??? ……. Tanner should have been takin into custody well before he had a chance to commit. That murder………

Massive, massive fail.

Maybe people in that community could check on people? Check on any homeless camps in the area as well- make sure no one else is hurt?

Those of you that knew and loved Jason his family thanks you for all of your comments. Those of you with knowledge about the individual who is responsible for this horrendous death I would like to ask you to please sit down and write down the information that you know times dates and as much accuracy as you can. As this mess is sorted out our family needs to collect as much information as possible to deal with this horrible situation. In the near future I will try to put together an information page and post an address that you can send any and all information that you have. Our hearts are broken and we thank you for all the compassion and love that you’ve shown.

Hang in there Glenn, it sounds like the community might finally persuade some changes in procedures at the county LE. Sorry for loss, it’s a tragedy when LE doesn’t function as needed.

Prayers to the family.

With all the stories in the comments on this guy… for goodness sakes DIG UP THAT PROPERTY! look for sunken places and grown over mounds.

So many people have disappeared and they don’t seem to look far or dig up the properties when nightmares like this get arrested.
