On this day in history….
On June 21, 1788, the United States Constitution went into effect and became the law od the land as New Hampshire became the required ninth state to ratify it.
201 years later, in 1989, the Supreme Court determined the burning the American flag was constitutionally protected speech.
And it’s International Yoga Day! Which I totally misread at first as International Yoghurt Day and celebrated with a few spoonfuls of Stauss Organic European Style yoghurt. Now I need to flex something instead.

Yes!!! Happy Summer! And not only is the first day of Summer but we can also leave Spring behind us. That ugly Spring! Because now Trump got the Iranian leaders to agree to allow international inspection teams to inspect their nuclear facilities! We will all be safe again…So let’s celebrate!! How about 8647 on the White House lawn? They can fix that while they fix the paint peels in the pool that got former Olympian arrested for nothing other than being curious.
We met with contractors today, will probably be forced to release and drain much of the water in order to do the necessary repairs, but will have them done as quickly as possible. What they have damaged does not even include the earlier killing of a large amount of grass which was, by far, the least of it. They took some form of knife or blade, and put a 250 foot long gash into the beautiful facade of what took so much work, competence, and money to build and complete. They also poured corrosive and destructive chemicals into the Pool.

Right, someone dived into the pool filled with corrosive and destructive chemicals and slashed the coating. I guess the algae was immune to those chemicals.
Wait, hasn’t the park service been dumping chemicals into the pool to kill the algae?
Fish have come up to me– grown fish, strong fish, with tears running down their faces and said, “Sir, Sir, it’s the greatest algae we’ve ever seen in our life. How did you do it? You’re incredible. No one has ever made pond scum this green”

It’s also a day we highlight the fact that plankton, algae and bacteria rule the world. For better or worse.

When a sitting President clearly lost his mind, has lost all credibility, and is doing actual harm to not just this country but to the world as a whole, calling for his removal is the most patriotic thing someone can do.
Pretending that 86 means anything other than to get rid of, is a silly attempt to deflect from a serious topic.

To be “86’d” means to remove or kick out, like you might at a bar for misbehaving. It doesn’t imply or call for death. That’s all you trying to make it some 1A hill to trumpet on, and demanding the mods for censorship. I can say we should also “86” Newsome, but that does not at all imply I want him dead, just not in office.
I know lots of people who wish he was dead. What’s the number for that?
Oh for fuck’s sake (sorry Kym). The 86 list at the local watering hole is NOT a death list, but a list of people who were such assholes they are banned from the bar/tavern.
When a bartender yells at the drunken or aggressive or just plain annoying “You’re 86’d, get out” that doesn’t mean they are wishing you death, just to get out and go away and never come back.

I really feel that most comments that hit the fainting couch over the “86” are being disingenuous…not say you are, but it beggars belief at some point, seriously.
86’d means get out and stay out, not calling for death.
I worked in the restaurant industry and 86 was a phrase commonly used and it means make them leave and don’t let them come back. Calling for Trump’s impeachment is not calling for his death. Calling for him to lose an election is not calling for his death.
I am happy to call for Trump to be 86’d and that is in no way calling for his death or any physical harm and like Angela, I have a hard time believing anyone seriously believes this is a death threat. Folks called for Biden to be 86’d and they were never censored on this site.

I agree that calling for the death of a President is disgusting and illegal. But 86 means just dump or throw out and I think everybody means impeach and remove from office when they say it. I don’t agree- I think he should serve his term the voters elected him to serve- unless something very very bad turns up. But I think these folks deserve to have their Freedom of Speech respected or at least allowed…
