James Robert Heflin: ‘A Deeply Generous Soul’

James Robert Heflin, 49, of Carlotta, California, passed away on May 29, 2026, in Redding, California.

James was a man of the outdoors who found his greatest joy in the beauty of nature. Whether he was rock hunting, driving his 4×4, or spending time in the mountains and by the river, he was always in his element. Known for his bright energy, James had a rare gift for lighting up any room he walked into and instantly bringing a smile to people’s faces.

Above all, James was a deeply generous soul. He was always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether he knew them or not, never caring about the money. He truly lived by his favorite motto: “It will come back around.” He loved his family fiercely and was the absolute best dad he knew how to be, caring deeply for all of his friends and relatives.

James is survived by his loving mother, Toni Weaver; and his cherished children, James (JR), Shyann, Jamie, and Terry. He also leaves behind a large circle of devoted friends who will miss his kindness and warmth.

In keeping with his relaxed and joyful spirit, a casual celebration of life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share happy stories, with specific details to be announced soon.
