Humboldt Man Faces Felony Child Abuse Charges in Court Today

A Humboldt County man is going into trial today on charges alleging lewd acts with a child under the age of 14, according to court documents filed in Humboldt County Superior Court.

Trinidad Cortez Gomez, 46, has been charged with two felony counts under California Penal Code section 288(a), commonly referred to as lewd acts upon a child. The complaint outlines allegations spanning multiple years.

According to the felony complaint, Count 1 alleges that between approximately June 1, 2020, and September 1, 2022, Gomez “did willfully, unlawfully, and lewdly commit a lewd and lascivious act” upon a child under the age of 14 in Humboldt County. The document states the alleged incident occurred at a residence in McKinleyville.

Count 2 alleges similar conduct between June 28, 2022, and June 27, 2024, and indicates the alleged act occurred in Gomez’s vehicle. The complaint identifies the alleged victim as a minor, referred to as Jane Doe, with a date of birth listed as June 28, 2010.

If convicted, Gomez would be required to register as a sex offender, according to the filing. The complaint also notes that the charges are considered serious and violent felonies under California law.

Court records indicate Gomez has been in custody at the Humboldt County Jail since July 6, 2025, and is being held without bail. He has entered pleas of not guilty to both counts.

Public payroll records indicate a person with the same name previously worked as a custodian for McKinleyville Union Elementary School District in 2019. Redheaded Blackbelt has not yet independently confirmed his employment history or whether the allegations are connected to any school setting.

Gomez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Looking at the rouges gallery of the Megans law website, a large proportion of child molesters appear to be Hispanic/Mexican. The numbers seem to be well out of proportion to their percentage of the general population.

What is the explanation for this? Check it out and you can see for yourself. Is it because of systemic racism and racist police and prosecutors are unfairly targeting Hispanics/Mexicans? Is it a genetic predisposition that this ethic group has to molest children? Is it cultural?

A lot of it is unfortunately cultural. I worked for the Department of Social Services/MediCal in the late 80’s in Santa Ana, CA. We’d have Hispanic, undocumented women in the office, in labor daily. More than half were under the age of 16. I remember being only 20 at the time and asked why we were not calling the police on these underage little girls being sexually abused. I was taken into the managers office with 2 eligibility workers that spoke fluid Spanish and they explained to me it was cultural that many of these “little girls” were married and in some Mexican villages they were considered “old maids” if they were not married by 14. With that mentality it would be east to think that a young girl is not off limits for their wants.

Victim is not Hispanic. This man needs to be behind doors he is a predator that has been lurking in the McKinleyville school system for years as a bus driver and janitor for the lower grades, then he moved onto AHS and bartending. He destroyed his wife and children’s life with his non stop cheating and pedophilia.

Some of your comments are correct. South of the border and beyond, a 12 yr old girl/woman is culturally accepted to be of child bearing age. Most are never schooled, and not very intelligent. Females can be a families financial burden, sadly parents encourage marriage at a young age to be rid of them. USA laws make little sense to those in that age group trying to stay under the immigration radar.
My comments are based on living in central America as a peace corps volunteer for 4+ years in very rural communities of the 3rd world. You paid for me to be there, so heres my opinion.. regardless if you want to read it or not.

Yeesh, some people can’t miss a day without injecting racism and/or immigration into any thread if someone has a foreign-sounding name.

Anyway, to which part of the Megan’s law site are you referring? All of it or Humboldt? You need to first put up something other than extremely vague questions if you want to start the argument, otherwise you’re just tossing spaghetti at the wall and see if anything sticks.

But if you want to go there, at least in Humboldt, those offenders are by far and large….white. Was that not what you were hoping to see?

It isnt just Mexican culture , if you take a honest look at global age of consent it averages around 15 years old some as low as 12 . While i am not suggesting that this behavior should be accepted or allowed i am stating that simply a change of location does not change a persons cultural habits beliefs or sense of right and wrong . This is not ment in anyway to be racist or to suggest anything other than for people to take a serious look at what is common place and normally acceptable in countries around the world and to try to understand how that effects the rest of us when we accept these other cultures into our country

Only 16 US states require people to be over 18 to marry so long as a parent is consenting.
California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Mississippi have no minimum age.

A friend of mine who is an anesthesiologist (who also is a liberal) has given subdural anesthesia to 12 year old girls. These have all been Mexican girls. She finds this quite disquieting.

What chance in life does a girl have of moving forward and upward if they start having children at 12 years old??!!

They might but the amount of struggle and cost to them will be high. No matter what they do, they will pay a huge price while the father does not.

Yeah sure- pass a law and everything is fixed.
Meanwhile the government will subsidize the children because no one can expect to collect child support from the low wage earning of an unskilled father of thirty children.

Uh oh… The charges mentioned will lodge Mr Gomez in state prison for an extended period of time. But as mentioned, being an employee of a school district might add permanent status to his housing if further charges happen. Hasta la vista Mr Gomez.

Well I guess if we are going to be “culturally sensitive” and “honoring differences” and “progressive” we should really start allowing men to have sex with 12 year old girls. But only if the men are Hispanic? Don’t want to be racist so I guess all men can do it…Okay- solved that problem with my “progressive” intelligence! Next issue- Bring it!

Or if they’re Donald Trump, right Farce? According to you it’s okay to rape women and children if the rapist is a politician.

It’s okay to follow a woman into a dressing room and rape her, and it’s okay to protect pedos, as long as you’re rich and famous, according to the MAGA shitheads.

How about those Epstein files, Farce? Oh, you got distracted by a stupid and pointless war? That’s conservative “intelligence!” Next issue- distract the red hat dumbfucks from the economy, quick!

That diversion has worn so deep a rut that even Progressive can’t see over the top of it. This issue has nothing to do with Trump or the Epstein files

Hispanic has nothing to do with it , most third world nations allow this . I was unaware that this person was working for a local school he should have known better been instructed as to what is acceptable and what is not , so there is little chance he did bot understand . However the facts remain the same people in this country for the most part have zero clue how the rest of the world lives , most of arguing and such that occurs here can be summed up as first world problems .
i have friends that are outraged that people overseas are being arrested for speaking publicly against politicians and other faiths screaming how it is against their rights , i look them dead in the eye and ask them what law or rights do those people have that is anything lime our rights here in this country ? They can not name the law . I ask so you are upset that people in another country have laws that are different than ours and they do not have the same rights that we have , yet in your vast knowledge and option believe that we should force other governments to follow out laws and give their people are rights , yet you complain about America policing the world bombing a country that sends out hit squads to kill people in hospitals treat women like shit , i find those that speak the most about how other people should be governed ruled live are the same ones that have maybe been outside the state they grew up in once or twice and maybe went on a vacation to a mexico resort once or twice. My point is they have very little first hand knowledge how the rest of the world lives how they are governed nor how lucky they are

Guess that old adage from the Clinton era still resonates. Telling a lie often enough makes it the truth. I would really like your presumed facts that Trump was an “enabler”.

It is well documented he was friends with Epstein and they did some business deals together in the 1980 and 90’s. When he found out what Epstein was really about, he kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago in 2003 (also well documented). So exactly what did Trump do to “enable” Epstein when he assisted the FBI with Epstein’s arrest in 2008 (also well documented)? Unfortunately, Epstein got a sweetheart deal and only served a few months in prison. That is on Obama and his team, not Trump.

I know the TDS is strong but you can’t make comments without some evidence. So far, the Epstein files do not incriminate President Trump in any wrongdoing. The problem with releasing the files is: many prominent men and women had business or social dealings with Epstein but did nothing wrong re: his sex trafficking of young women. We can’t assume guilt without evidence. Hearsay and gossip via the internet are not evidence but they are very damaging to innocent people when repeated over and over.

If we allow the takeover of law and order to those who repeat gossip and hearsay as evidentiary findings, we could all become victims of the rumor mill i.e Carter Page, Papadolpolus, General Flynn et al.
