Trinity County Releases Draft Zoning Code for Public Review

Trinity County [, on Monday,] announced the release of the Public Review Draft Zoning Code, a major milestone in the County’s ongoing effort to modernize its land use framework alongside the Trinity County 2050 General Plan Update.

The comprehensive Zoning Code update is designed to ensure consistency with the County’s updated General Plan, incorporate recent changes in State law, and reorganize regulations into a clearer, more user-friendly format for residents, property owners, and developers.

The Draft Zoning Code reflects extensive community and stakeholder engagement, and was developed based on:

• Public input gathered throughout the General Plan update process
• Stakeholder interviews
• Goals and policies from the updated 2050 General Plan
• Feedback from Planning Commission study sessions conducted over the past year

“This draft represents a significant step forward in aligning Trinity County’s development standards with the community’s long-term vision,” said Drew Plebani, Trinity County Planning and Community Development Director. “We encourage all residents and stakeholders to review the document and participate in the upcoming public discussions.”

Upcoming Public Study Sessions

The County will host two public study sessions with the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors to review and discuss the Draft Zoning Code. Community members are encouraged to attend and provide input.

Note: Attendees are not required to stay for the full session. Multiple opportunities will be available throughout each meeting to provide public comment.
