Humboldt County Sheriff Issues Evacuation Order and Evacuation Warning After Boise Fire Grew Rapidly

????? ???? ???????????Effective as of Aug. 14, 2024 at 9 a.m.Due to rapidly evolving fire conditions, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has issued an EVACUATION ORDER for zones:HUM-E025-A (North of Middle Fork Red Cap Creek, south of Forest Route-10N03, east of Red Cap Creek and west of the Siskiyou/Humboldt County Line.)Residents who are already evacuated from these zones are not permitted to return to their residences. Any residents remaining in this zone should evacuate immediately.A temporary evacuation point has been established at the Karuk Department of Natural Resources, located at 39051 Highway 96 in Orleans. Water is available at this site.There is also an EVAUATION WARNING issued for zones:HUM-E025-C (North of Middle Fork Mill Creek, south of Middle Fork Red Cap Creek, Mill Creek Trail, east of North Fork Red Cap Creek and west of Siskiyou/Humboldt County Line.)HUM-E009-C (North of South Fork Pearch Creek, Antenna Ridge, south of Ishi Pishi Rd, Siskiyou/Humboldt County Line, east of Klamath River, Highway 96, west of Siskiyou/Humboldt County Line.)Prepare for potential evacuations, including personal supplies and overnight accommodations. Well, that’s not very good news.
I think that commenters who blame the fs for back-burns are misinformed and looking for scapegoats. They are way less funded (compared to Calfire) and do the best they can do. Politics are involved in all decisions and some criticism is ok, but to say that they are artificially expanding the fires by backburning makes no sense and it just lets everyone know how misinformed you are, when you say stupid things like that.
They back burned hard 2020 havnt heard of any back fires this year
It’s a fact that 2020 the Alaska crew was kicked off the fire after burning down several neighborhoods during the August complex fire.
