My heart goes out to his family and friends. I wish I didn’t know your pain. This is the worst way to lose a loved one. And I’m so very sorry to all involved. My heart literally is breaking for you. Well, it was already broken, however, these tears are for your loved one. May the universe comfort you all in the most loving way. Please be kind to yourselves.

We had a suicide on our mountain 2 weeks ago. I fear z these aren’t isolated incidents but a result of the economic collapse of the rural county, inflation, housing shortage and the rising fentanyl epidemic. I truly hope the powers that be, the Board of Supervisors, County Health Department, and Planning Department are aware of this depression we are headed towards and do not add to it with unnecessary Code Enforcement and other actions that threaten peoples last refuge, their homes.

A forlorn hope, Jeffersonion is correct. Those folks have a guaranteed $100k a year and no understanding or empathy

A gunshot suicide without a gun. Shooters in the area were cops who found the weaponless gunshot suicide.

The article did not say it was a shotgun or what gun was found. Your comment makes it look like the police officers killed him. How about a prayer for his family and friends instead please.

HCSO pretty quick to conclude suicide when first article said no gun and:
The emergency dispatcher stated, “He’s reporting he’s unsure where the firearm is. States that it does not look self-inflicted but appears to it was made that way.” Presumably, the “he” that the dispatcher is referring to would be the off-duty Alameda Police officer who was the reporting party.

Unbelievable! Someone make it stop! All you prayer warriors, please pray. May the universe protect us all from the depths of despair that so many of us are feeling. I can’t believe I would lose my son to this and now his best friend! This is just horrific!
