Relationship Hits the Roof: MCSO Deputies Say Woman Climbed Onto Ex’s Car, Causing $3,000 in Damage

This is a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent unless proven guilty:

On 07/03/2026 at approximately 10:12 P.M., Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of North State Street in Ukiah for a reported vandalism that occurred earlier in the evening.

Sheriff’s Deputies contacted the victim, a 38-year-old male from Ukiah, who reported ongoing relationship issues with his live-in ex-girlfriend, Karin Judd. The victim stated that earlier in the day, he and Judd were involved in a verbal argument. Following the argument, the victim went to his bedroom and later decided to leave the residence.

As the victim exited the residence, he discovered significant damage to the front windshield and panoramic glass roof of his vehicle. The victim reviewed surveillance footage from the residence and observed Judd climbing onto the vehicle, causing the damage.

Sheriff’s Deputies also reviewed the surveillance footage and observed damage consistent with the victim’s statements. The damage to the vehicle was estimated at approximately $3,000.

Sheriff’s Deputies later contacted Judd at the residence and placed her under arrest for 594(b)(1) PC – Vandalism over $400. Judd was transported to the Mendocino County Jail where she was later released on her signed promise to appear in accordance with the current Uniform Bail Schedule set forth by the Superior Court of Mendocino County
