1 Death, 4 New Hospitalizations, 543 New Cases During Past Seven-Day Period, Childhood Vaccines for 6 Months and Older Approved
Press release from Public Health:
Humboldt County Public Health reported the death today of a resident in their 60s. Four new hospitalizations were reported, a resident in their 60s and three aged 80 or older. An additional 289 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 were reported as well as 254 new probable cases for the period between Tuesday, June 14, and Tuesday, June 21. The total number of confirmed cases in the county stands at 19,311. An additional 3,933 cases are reported as probable.*
Local vaccination data has been updated on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard. Highlights include:
- Since the last weekly report on June 15, an additional 90 residents completed their vaccine series.
- A total of 90,542 individuals, or approximately 67% of the county’s total population, have been fully vaccinated as of Tuesday.
Over the weekend, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approved the use of COVID-19 vaccines for children over 6 months old. The approval follows a unanimous vote from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s vaccine advisory team for emergency use authorization for Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines for young children.
Pfizer’s three-dose vaccination series for children age 6 months to 4 years and Moderna’s two-dose vaccination series for children age 6 months to 5 years has generated immunity at levels similar to the immune responses seen among young adults.
The COVID-19 vaccines for young children are now available in Humboldt County. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to contact their child’s pediatrician or health care provider. The vaccines are not being administered through Public Health vaccine clinics at this time, pharmacies are not authorized to vaccinate children ages 2 and under. OptumServe continues to offer rapid antigen testing and PCR testing services at the Wharfinger site. PCR tests are available only on a walk-in basis and must be specifically requested from the attendee. Walk-in attendees should receive only rapid antigen testing unless the attendee specifically states they require a PCR test. Appointments for antigen testing can be made at lhi.care/covidtesting or by calling 888-634-1123.
Test to Treat service is now available at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka. At Test to Treat locations, people are tested for COVID-19 and if a person tests positive, is 12 or older and treatments are deemed appropriate for them, Paxlovid antiviral medication will be administered at no charge. A registered nurse is onsite with a Telehealth link to a medical doctor in order to dispense medication, should the patient choose.
The service runs daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1 Marina Way in Eureka. The site is closed from 11 a.m. to noon and 5 to 6 p.m. Attendees should bring a list of their medications with them.
Vaccines remain readily available throughout Humboldt County and, as always, Humboldt’s vaccination and testing services are available free of charge. Walk-ins are welcome at all Public Health clinics and some pharmacy vaccination sites. Appointments can also be made at MyTurn.ca.gov.

Joe’s answer is to suspend the federal gas excise tax until the election, a gimmick worth about $20-30 for each American driver, while Bidenflation is costing each American family $500 each and every month.

The gas-guzzling private jet owned by climate czar John Kerry’s family has already taken 16 flights this year alone, online records show.
Flight Aware data indicates the most recent flight on Kerry’s family jet was on Wednesday when it traveled from Idaho’s Friedman Memorial Airport to Boston.
Trips were also made earlier this week between Idaho and California.
Kerry and his wife Teresa have vacationed in Idaho’s Sun Valley for decades, local media reports say.
Earlier records, obtained by Fox News, also show the jet has flown multiple times within Massachusetts since January, including to Martha’s Vineyard and Boston.
Two trips were between Massachusetts and New Jersey.
It is the same plane linked to the Flying Squirrel LLC charter company that Kerry listed as one of his assets in financial disclosures when he was secretary of state.
It is not immediately clear who charted the plane on any of the 16 flights this year.
A State Department spokesperson said Kerry — who is Biden’s climate envoy and is tasked with trying to lower greenhouse gas emissions — wasn’t on any of the flights this year.
“Secretary Kerry travels commercially or via military air in his role as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate,” the spokesperson said.
The State Department would not comment on whether Kerry or his wife financially benefit from Flying Squirrel LLC.
Kerry has faced intense scrutiny in the past for defending his use of a private jet while preaching to the nation and the world about reducing emissions.

Gillum claimed in a statement that he was innocent and that the charges were political, even though he is being charged by the Department of Justice, which is overseen by the Biden administration.
“The Indictment alleges that between 2016 and 2019, defendants Gillum and Lettman-Hicks conspired to commit wire fraud, by unlawfully soliciting and obtaining funds from various entities and individuals through false and fraudulent promises and representations that the funds would be used for a legitimate purpose,” the statement says. “The Indictment further alleges the defendants used third parties to divert a portion of those funds to a company owned by Lettman-Hicks, who then fraudulently provided the funds, disguised as payroll payments, to Gillum for his personal use.”
“Both defendants are charged with 19 counts of wire fraud,” the statement added. “Gillum is also charged with making false statements to agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.”
If found guilty, Gillum faces up to 5 years in prison for making false statements, 20 years in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and 20 years in prison per charge for wire fraud.
In 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic threw the U.S. into chaos, Gillum, who has children and was married, was found in a hotel room with a male escort and suspected baggies of crystal meth.

No, mir’s right. What is enumerated in the Bill of Rights is a fit subject for the Supreme Court. Unfortunately this court chose to move into States rights on an issue which was not enumerated. And egregously based on relgious ideology, which is also unconstitutional. And the Constitution specifically states that rights not specified to the Federal Government are “are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The next step in this utterly wasteful kerfuffle is that the States do not have the right to abridge the other parts of the Bill of Rights either. So they can not deprive a woman of ” life, liberty, or property without due process of law” by banning abortion. And every stupid state law that does so will end up in front of the Supreme Court bit by bit until abortion become a de facto right again. Unless there is enough anger for Congress to get them off their fat politicians rear ends and create an amendment to the Constitution. Which would be the worst option because it opens too many issues to correction.
The Supreme Court justices should be ashamed. But not being Constitutionalist has embarassed liberal justices many times too. Judge Jackson graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and then cum laude from Harvard Law. Her work experience seems to fit well with the work of a Supreme Court justice.

NBC and other media outlets reporting the Secret Service and driver of the Beast on the 6th willing to testify under oath Cassidy’s version of Trump demands to go to the Capitol and “lunging” at anyone never happened. Why did the committee present hearsay evidence rather than recorded testimony obtained earlier of those actually in the Beast on the 6th? Isn’t this simply trying to mislead the public? And why was she flipping pages to read from a notebook when asked questions, all the answers prepared by someone in advance? As sensational as today’s testimony the contradicting testimony brings everything Cassidy said today into question. Still, I think it’s best for Trump (and Biden) to graciously bow out of 2024 and leave the contest to new blood.

I wouldn’t care if Garland wants to attempt a prosecution of Trump – he’s got a DC jury so he’s likely to get a conviction although I haven’t heard definitive evidence of a crime myself. Many politicians have protested election results and withheld votes certifying election results over the years. Are all of them guilty of something?
