Eureka Theater Hosting Screening of Indiana Jones with 3D-Printed Replica of Ark of the Covenant on June 17th

This is a press release from the Eureka Theater:

The Eureka Theater is kicking off its 80s Adventure Series with a holy grail, well, a holy ark, of movie memorabilia. On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the theater will host a screening of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, and joining the film will be a life-size, 3D printed replica of the Ark of the Covenant on display in the lobby.

The replica, originally created for Burning Man by Amos Sobol and Steven Porter, has been recently refinished for its Humboldt County debut. Movie-goers will have the chance to see the iconic prop up close before the film, with doors opening at 6 PM and the movie starting at 7 PM.

“We wanted to do something special for the first night of our 80s Adventure Series,” said Nate Adams, General Manager of the Eureka Theater. “Raiders of the Lost Ark is the ultimate adventure film, and having the Ark, the actual Ark, in our lobby felt like the perfect way to kick off the summer. Amos and Steven did incredible work bringing this to life.”

The Ark replica is a stunning, screen-accurate recreation of the prop from the 1981 classic. It was first built for the Burning Man festival, where it made an impression on the playa before being taken back to the workshop for refinishing. Now polished and ready for its Humboldt debut, it will be on display for one night only at the Eureka Theater.

The screening is the first of eight Wednesday nights featuring classic 80s adventure films. Each ticket includes a free slice of pizza from Paul’s Live from New York. The series is designed to give families a night off from cooking and planning, with parents able to share their favorite formative movies with a new generation.
