Trent James ‘is a Whistleblower of Impeccable Integrity,’ Says Letter to the Editor

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

Please support Trent James for Mendocino County Sheriff. He is a “cop’s cop”. He is a whistleblower of impeccable integrity.

Trent James may be the last honest cop in Mendocino County.

Trent James blew the whistle on how it took 2.5 years to get the son of our county’s SWAT commander charged on child pornography charges — 2.5 years — and even then, he was only charged with a misdemeanor and was released on his own recognizance.

Shocking!

Trent James blew the whistle on how the SWAT commander was promoted to lieutenant, even as his household was being investigated for child pornography.

Simply shocking!

And remember to vote for Trent James as a write-in candidate for Sheriff.

Thank you!

John Sakowicz

A “Former Deputy” who was “fired from the Willits PD” is hardly an appropriate candidate for Sheriff…

Not that Matt Kendall was ever any good at it either…

The old days, the old ways, they are over, but airing County business on YouTube needs to end as well…

Ask yourself: Why do Mendocino County Officials get “appointed” when their predecessors “retire”, why do officials on the North Coast often run “unopposed”, and, why would an angry ex-officer with a grudge against the county make a good Sheriff?

It’s a well paid job, and Mendocino would do well to hire from within, and avoid further controversy on the subject of dishonest cops, abuse of the citizenry, and also on the wasting of resources…

Obviously, the lawbreakers want to be left alone, but the Federal Case is stalling, and the main advocate for this candidate created a fuss in Sonoma that Sonoma would just as soon not talk about…

I fail to understand how a person like Trent could possibly do Mendocino County a service, and though it is well that he is challenging Matt Kendall, he should have gotten a bit more prepared, and run an actual campaign, in the usual tradition of Mendocino County.

Trent and Aspen’s Hunter Thompson have little in common, but Thompson probably got more votes than Mr James is likely to receive…

I think airing county business on YouTube (publicly) is the greatest credit he has going for him. It is an important public service.

Well proven that people waste their time on social media, and also known that neither you or Trent James are Law Enforcement Officers…

We have enough trouble operating governments with the current batch of paid-off and thoroughly corrupt politicians and “public servants”, obviously, but one guy with no action but a You Tube page seems unlikely to accomplish significant change in a completely broken county.

If you are Trent James’ Campaign Manager I would respect the fact that image is everything, in politics, and, even though many pot farmers live there, Mendocino is a pretty conservative place, and nobody is in love with change…

Since you are a filmmaker, perhaps you should consider making a documentary about police corruption, but Mr James’ campaign appears to be too little, and too late.

OH and Polk County is in Florida…

No, I am not his campaign manager. I’m very clear Sheriff Grady Judd is in the very conservative Polk County, FL. I was just simply showing that some sheriffs are using YouTube to be transparent about the ‘public’s business’.

Sheriff Judd’s personal YouTube channel has over 400 videos as part of his community policing strategy.

I shouldn’t be bothered to watch a single minute of You Tube, although I did watch a video or two about car repair and about jewelry making, once.

I really don’t care about Mr James’ mission, and I consider Mendocino County to be a very lawless place.

I was raised by a man who said “Tattoos are for Sailors and Circus-Freaks”, and many other fine bits of wisdom.

I grew up in a very conservative farming community, and Mr James doesn’t appear to represent any kind of viable candidate for Sheriff.

You and he should both re-invent yourselves, and, IMO, you are both delusional about the space in reality you occupy, and, possibly, you might want to find another activity to amuse yourselves…

Fired for standing up for what is right. Not putting up with sloppy lazy work. Speaking up about serious issues that dilute credibility, while illuminating officer’s abuse of power. We deserve a sheriff that stands up for service, policy and the public!!! It is time to move into the future of modern, fresh policing not the stagnant mosquito filled cesspool it is now.

Please post a link to, or directly provide information regarding “why Willits fired Mr James”…

Remember, the Willits PD?

https://kymkemp.com/2021/02/09/former-willits-police-chief-alexis-blaylock-sues-city-for-500000-claiming-a-hostile-work-environment-sexism-and-racism/

In Willits, the cops mainly sit in their cars and watch porn on their phones, until their shift ends…

In Ukiah, the average Deputy spends a considerable amount of time dealing with the Houseless/Addict problems, but, State Street is actually looking better these days…

To be worth your salary, you would have to be part therapist, part nurse, and part lawyer…

Not a job I would take…

Dude, your arguments have no substance and hold no weight. Do you even know the details why he was fired (if he was?) If YouTube is a good tool or platform to be heard and expose the truth then more power to him and how is that really any different than you sharing your views online here? Why are you trying to
avoid controversy of dishonest cops? Honesty is a virtue!! Helloooo

That’s one way to look at it, but I asked for information and received vitriol…

If you have firsthand factual information concerning the termination of this former WPD officer, please provide it.

Thanks so much for your input!

I find it interesting that the folks who attack Trent James don’t have a single good thing to say about Sheriff Kendall.

He drove all the way to Redway to personally deliver a donation to KMUD during the last pledge drive. Citing the importance of community radio in times of emergency.
That’s the best thing I can say about him
