Rotary Clubs of Arcata and Arcata Sunrise Host Community Social and Adventure Raffle to Support Backpacks for Kids June 20

The Rotary Clubs of Arcata and Arcata Sunrise invite you to join us for a, Charity Social and Adventure Raffle benefiting the Backpacks for Kids on Saturday, June 20, 4pm to 6pm at Baywood Golf & Country Club.

Food for People’s Backpacks for Kids Weekend Hunger Relief Program which provides nutritious food to local children facing food insecurity during weekends throughout the school year.

Guests will enjoy live music, a complimentary taco bar, happy-hour beer and wine, and a no-host cocktail bar. Admission to the social is free.

Highlights of the evening will be a Putting green contest, a Silent Auction, a Dutch Raffle and the drawing for the 2026 Adventure Raffle, featuring three exciting prize packages:

Grand Prize: A 10-day stay on Moturoa Island, New Zealand, airfare travel voucher & island golf cart Second Prize: Wing Inflatable River Tube package with Kokatat gear Third Prize: San Francisco getaway including Giants tickets, hotel accommodations, and dining experiences

Only a limited number of raffle tickets will be sold, increasing participants’ odds of winning. Tickets are $25 each, and winners need not be present to win. The drawing will take place at approximately 5:45 p.m. during the Charity Social. Three prizes will be awarded to three separate winners.

“Every raffle ticket purchased and every participant who joins us helps ensure that local children have access to food when school is not in session,” said event organizers. “The Backpacks for Kids program provides a vital safety net for families throughout Humboldt County, and community support makes that possible.”

Community members are encouraged to attend the Charity Social even if they are not participating in the golf tournament. The event offers an opportunity to connect with friends and neighbors, learn more about the Backpacks for Kids program, and support a worthy cause while enjoying an evening of entertainment.

Backpacks for Kids is a program of Food for People that provides weekend food assistance to children experiencing hunger in Humboldt County. The program helps bridge the gap when school meal programs are unavailable, ensuring students have access to nutritious food throughout the school year.
