Second Chances

Press release provided by Teen Court:
Art1

The Boys & Girls Club TEEN COURT program presents the 3rd annual art show “Second Chances.” This art show features photos and drawings by local teen artists exploring what personal and community transformation looks like. At Teen Court, we regularly bear witness to the power of youth being given a second chance to move beyond one bad choice. Teen Court is excited to extend beyond our courtroom and share such inspiration with our larger community.

“Second chances is one of the fundamental things about Teen Court. And I think this show is amazing in the fact that it…uses art to spread the word about that concept and Teen Court”, Hanya Bruner (Teen Court volunteer and participating artist from last year).

This community event is a Fundraiser, Art Sale, and Raffle for the Boys & Girls Club TEEN COURT. Teen Court is a juvenile offender diversion program based on restorative justice and peer accountability.

Teens, who have admitted guilt, agree to have their case heard by their peers, who focus on coming up with an appropriate sentence that will help the offender to learn from their mistake.

Please join us on Saturday, May 3rd during Arts Alive! from 6-9 pm at Los Bagels, 403 2nd St, Eureka. Food

& beverages will be provided. For further information contact Teen Court at 707-444-0153, [email protected]
