Richard Wilmer McDowell, a Navy veteran, teacher, and artist who made Fortuna his home for more than two decades, passed away peacefully on November 15 at 88.

Disney Raquel Gamboa, remembered for her warmth, creativity, and boundless spirit, passed away October 20 in Decatur, Texas. A memorial will be held in Humboldt County this spring.

Born in Scotia and raised in Eureka, Bonnie built a distinguished career in title and escrow before retiring in 2009.

Danielle Elizabeth Davis, born March 10, 1993, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2025, in San Francisco. She is remembered by her family as a gentle spirit whose love for her son, Bentley, illuminated her life.

Known for her big heart, adventurous spirit, and holiday gatherings that brought everyone home, Voncie’s life will be celebrated November 22 at 1 p.m. at the Alderpoint Volunteer Fire Hall.

Rosalia “Rosie” Marie Mott, a lifelong resident of Hoopa known for her music, dedication to community, and years of service with the U.S. Postal Service, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2025.
