Humboldt–Del Norte Film Commission Named Finalist for Worldwide Film Office Award
Press release from the Humboldt–Del Norte Film Commission:
The Humboldt–Del Norte Film Commission has been named a finalist for Outstanding Film Commission/Office by the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI), marking the third time the organization has been recognized by the LMGI Awards since the program’s inception and the second time it has advanced to finalist status.
The LMGI Awards celebrate excellence in location-based filmmaking and film commission work worldwide. More than 350 submissions were received from around the globe for the 13th Annual LMGI Awards.
The Humboldt–Del Norte Film Commission received the nomination for its work supporting the Warner Bros. production One Battle After Another, which was partially filmed in Humboldt County and is also nominated in the Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Film category.
“We are incredibly honored to be recognized by our industry peers,” said Cassandra Hesseltine, Executive Director of the Humboldt–Del Norte Film Commission. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, board members, volunteers, community partners, local governments, businesses, property owners, and residents who help make Humboldt and Del Norte Counties extraordinary places to film.”
The finalist designation adds to a remarkable year for the organization, following international recognition at Cannes and statewide recognition as a California Nonprofit of the Year.
Over the years, the Humboldt–Del Norte Film Commission has supported hundreds of productions while expanding film tourism, workforce development, educational programming, and community engagement initiatives. Recent efforts include the Redwood Coast Museum of Cinema, Forest Moon Festival, Map of the Movies, Movies in the Parks, and ongoing advocacy for film production throughout California’s North Coast.
“Film production creates jobs, supports local businesses, and introduces audiences around the world to the beauty and character of our region,” Hesseltine said. “We are proud to represent Humboldt and Del Norte Counties on the worldwide stage and grateful to everyone who has helped make this recognition possible.”
The winners of the 13th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards will be announced on August 22, 2026, in Los Angeles.
