[UPDATE 3:50 p.m.: Roadway Clear Now] Traffic Backed up on Southbound 101 Coming into North Eureka

Traffic is backing up after a crash in the area of the southbound Slough Bridge on 101 coming into Eureka.
At about 2:45 p.m., two vehicles collided on southbound 101 coming into Eureka over the Slough Bridge. Traffic is now backed up to the Jacobs Avenue exit, according to Caltrans QuickMap.
According to scanner traffic, one lane of 101 is closed as emergency personnel deal with the situation. At this point we don’t have any details on the crash.

Do you know, there are countries where car crashes are investigated like the NTSB investigates plane crashes? They figure out what happened and how to avoid it happening again, and then they fix it.
Around the Eureka area I think most of the accidents are caused by people not paying attention to their driving habits and I would call them “rolling idiots.” You can’t fix stupid!
