Airport Loop Road Repair Update

Repair work on Airport Loop Road at the California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport (ACV) in McKinleyville has been ongoing since June 25.

Due to wet weather, work has been temporarily suspended and will resume Saturday, June 27. Airport operations are not affected, however, airport visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly.

What to Expect
Repair work on Airport Loop Road includes chip sealing, which is a cost-effective preventative maintenance treatment that helps extend the life of roads, and painting. Work is expected to continue on June 27 between 7 a.m. and approximately 5 p.m. or later, weather permitting.

Airport Loop Road is currently open, however, parking in front of the airport terminal is limited. When work resumes, the road crew will be actively working, and airport visitors should plan to see flaggers in the project area.

To ensure the safety of the road crew and traveling public, motorists are asked to drive cautiously, watch out for workers and pedestrians, and follow all directions and traffic control instructions and in the project area.

Airport visitors are encouraged to plan to arrive early and allow for extra time when traveling to and from ACV. Thank you for your patience as the county works to make these improvements.
