A segment of the M21 Road is closed for emergency repairs. The temporary closure begins between the Hammerhorn Campground and the Smokehouse Creek/M21 crossing on the Covelo Ranger District. The closure is due to washout that has caused a total failure of a 100-ft. section of the road. The road will be closed until emergency repairs can be completed.

Road conditions on the forest are dynamic, especially given the post-fire hazards and storm damage. Forest officials ask motorists to drive with caution, as unseen hazards or other vehicles may be around the corner.

For more information please visit Alerts on the forest website at https://www.fs.usda.gov/r05/mendocino/alerts or call one of the ranger stations.
