ATV Rider Injured in Redcrest Crash

Several state vehicular recreation areas will be offering free ATV, ROV, and motorcycle safety classes during Fall Safety Week.

A 19-year-old ATV rider suffered a head laceration and a possible broken clavicle this afternoon after crashing on a logging road near Redcrest, according to a report made after he drove or was driven to the Scotia Fire Department.

The injured rider was transported by private vehicle in a Ford Bronco to the Scotia Fire Department, where emergency responders met him for treatment.

Scanner traffic indicated the rider suffered a head laceration and a possible broken clavicle. The extent of his injuries and whether he was transported to a hospital were not immediately available.

I am pleased that he was not injured worse. Riding without a helmet is asking for trouble if you have an accident. Thank you to the Scotia Fire Department for treating him.

It’s asking for trouble whether or not you have an accident.

If you have an accident you don’t need to ask for trouble, you’ve already got it.
