CHP Says Maximum Enforcement Period Starts Tonight
Facebook post from CHP-Crescent City:
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will deploy a statewide Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) focused on impaired driving from 6 p.m. Saturday, June 20, through 6 a.m. Sunday, June 21. There will be a high presence of uniformed CHP personnel in all ranks. Weekend nights and early mornings remain among the most dangerous times for impaired-driving crashes. Increased summer travel, social gatherings, and celebrations can further heighten the risk. Although our focus is on impaired drivers, we will continue to enforce all vehicle code violations in an effort to stop preventable crashes from occurring.

I guess those people leaving Summer Arts should take care leaving the Community Park tonight, lots of impaired drivers, right?
Camping or public transit options need to be a part of every festival.
Or at least overnight parking and none of those options were considered during this festival, even if they were allowed up to 2,500 attendees this year and even when alcohol drinks and beer are being sold at the festival.
Actually, the MEP started on Saturday…
Lots of tickets being issued…
Drive safely, and politely, please!
