Injury Crash Closes 6th and H Streets in Eureka

epd at crash scene on H street

Eureka Police Department officers are on scene of an injury traffic collision at the intersection of 6th and H Streets Tuesday afternoon.

Westbound traffic on 6th Street is shut down at I Street, and H Street is closed between 5th and 6th Streets. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

Scanner traffic indicates that two tow trucks have been requested and at least one vehicle has major front-end damage. Four infants are reported to be among those involved — one in one vehicle and three inside a Ford Expedition.

Two ambulances have been dispatched to the scene. No information on the number or severity of injuries has been released.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

Wow! What are those odds of four infants? Even of three in one vehicle.

Another bad accident in a town full of them. I am more worried about the little ones and hoping that all four are ok. If you are the person who caused the accident, I suggest you go into the church and pray. That is a very bad intersection, and something needs to be done to make it safer. They have even installed double stop lights, but people still crash there.

I hope everyone’s okay and that we get more details.

I also hope that Eureka succeeds in making their streets less deadly.

Slow down people. The streets are not race tracks and you are not in LA or the SF bay area.
