‘Love and Comfort One Quilt at a Time’: Blanket Outreach Humboldt
This is a press release from Blanket Outreach Humboldt:
Whether it is a child who is in the foster system, a victim of domestic violence, or someone facing a serious illness; imagine the comfort that a hand-made quilt can bring.
That is what the volunteers of Blanket Outreach Humboldt provide to many of the County’s non-profits.
The organization exists as a part of the Ink People’s DreamMaker Project; formerly part of Project Linus. Blanket Outreach Humboldt “provides hand-crafted blankets” through local agencies to people in challenging situations.
The Outreach project provides roughly 500 hand-made quilts to organizations throughout Humboldt County, all created by volunteer quilters with funds provided for the materials coming from donated fabric, donated quilt tops, and monetary funding from generous community donors.
Community members interested in being involved, or donating to Blanket Outreach Humboldt can contact the organization through their website: https://www.inkpeople.org/dreammaker-data/blanket-outreach ;
or by contacting: Hilary @ [email protected] 707-834-2780 or Christine @ [email protected] 707-444-3023.
