Eureka police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting Monday afternoon in a residential neighborhood and had not located either vehicle involved as of this report.

Officers with the Eureka Police Department responded around 1 p.m. to the area of Wabash Avenue and Lowell Street after reports of two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed and possible gunfire. Officers found multiple spent shell casings in the roadway.

According to EPD, surveillance video and witness statements indicate a white Porsche SUV was stopped at a stop sign when an occupant of a black Mercedes-Benz or BMW SUV fired approximately six to eight rounds at the Porsche. The Porsche then fled at high speed, with the black SUV appearing to give chase.

Officers also established a perimeter around a nearby residence where a subject reportedly refused to come outside. Negotiations were ongoing, and mental health staff were requested, according to scanner traffic. It was not immediately clear if that situation was directly connected to the shooting.

Lowell Street between Wabash Avenue and Watson Street was closed off while officers investigated.

It is unknown if anyone was injured. Investigators had not yet determined who was the victim and who was the shooter as of Monday afternoon, according to EPD.

Rich people argument. I bet the gun was gold plated.
If there was a shootout in my neighborhood I also would refuse to come out. Probably set off their PTSD.

Anyone can afford a 30 year old, worn out, German shitbox these days! Even the scumbags! The gun was probably a piece of shit HI-Point pistol with the serial number filed off!!!

IMHO: Eureka needs more FLOCK cameras.

Yes! How about one outside every house! or better yet several inside every house! Then they could catch domestic abusers in the act and all kinds of other criminals right in their homes before they can even go outside to hurt others! Oh that would be such a great world to live in. 🤦‍♂️

IMHO:

Response of a ‘normal citizen’… like ‘who cares’ ?

You are ‘on camera’ in stores, gas stations, schools, churches, casinos, govt buildings, parking lots, interactions with LEO’s.

Cameras catch criminals. Criminals don’t like them.

So… what do you have to hide ?

Yep these cameras are all recruited by LOEs and flock to watch. It all goes into a big data center in Sacramento. Im sure you have seen the movie…………..

Bozo, you have to understand, the flock system is not used to stop crime like this. It is used to monitor population egress. Then that info will be used to TAX autos that move around too much.

Based on the way these stories usually play out locally the involved parties are most likely some mix of white people and natives.

So I’m not sure what you mean since I wouldn’t say natives really “let in” white people.

What do you expect when you vote in a convicted felon, rapist, racist, grifting con man who starts unnecessary wars in an attempt to distract us from him being a pedophile.

Biden has been out of office for a year and a half. President Trump is fixing things the autopen staff did. And what obama did too.

Hmmm, I believe I have seen that exact talking point on almost every platform. I wonder if it comes from the DNC or the CCP? It really is getting tedious. Hope you find some new material soon.

Humboldt is one of the last spots that this would even make the news. Y’all should count yourselves lucky and stop bagging on your own town.
