Everything Bagel: Shelter Pup Comes With Extra Floof, Giant Paws, and a Side of Goofball
If your ideal dog is part snow beast, part livestock guardian, and part tiny woodland creature from a 1980s fantasy movie, the Humboldt County Animal Shelter may have found your match.
Meet Bagel — a fluffy young pup described by one shelter volunteer as “part Husky, Great Pyrenees, and Ewok.”
And honestly? The comparison tracks.
At around 8 months old and already weighing 63 pounds, Bagel is still growing into his giant paws and oversized fluff. But despite his future-big-dog status, volunteers say he’s gentle on leash, polite when taking treats, and much more interested in affection than showing off in the play yard.
“He is as soft, cuddly, and goofy as he looks,” the volunteer wrote.
Bagel reportedly walks beautifully on leash and seems happiest soaking up love and attention from the humans around him. While some young dogs bounce off the walls, Bagel appears to lean more toward lovable fuzzy companion with occasional comedy routines.
The shelter says he’s available by appointment, and anyone looking for a large, affectionate youngster with serious cuddle potential may want to meet him before someone else scoops him up.
To meet Bagel, visit the Humboldt County Animal Shelter adoption page and fill out an application to schedule an appointment.

Don’t let Miranda get ahold of him.
Heh. He’s going to be an 80 lb. lap dog, isn’t he? I hope he finds his perfect pack.
