Motorcyclist Arrested After Crash Near Arcata’s Minor Theatre, Witness Says

A reader told Redheaded Blackbelt the crash occurred a little before 3 p.m. near the theater when the motorcycle rider was allegedly speeding through the area and ran a stop sign before colliding with a black truck.
According to the witness, “He got up, threw off his jacket, and went running. APD and highway patrol chased him down.”
Booking records show Kenneth Edward Loghry was arrested at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday by CHP officers Reynolds and Quevedo.
Loghry was booked on the following charges:
Felony evading a peace officer with reckless driving
Driving on a suspended license
Resisting or obstructing an officer
We’ve reached out to the CHP for more information but haven’t received an answer as of this posting.

“chased him down” should automatically be an extra year of jail. Plenty of time to think about his actions.

I saw this happen. The motorcyclist flew up off the bike, landed, then jumped up and ran.
He was ripping really loudly and fast down the street before the crash. Word had it he was being pursued.
The truck he hit sustained serious damage on the driver side front door and fender and popped the left front tire.
Nice bike ruined. Life changing for the people he hit.
The bike plate was from Oregon.

Maybe no one; a few months ago, at the end of a Critical Mass bike ride in Arcata, there was some jerk in a blacked out bloated pickup that had been lifted, zooming around the plaza on a Friday night with a lot of pedestrians around.
