Highway 1 Blocked at Leggett Due to Slide

Highway 1 in northern Mendocino County was fully closed Saturday as a powerful storm battered the North Coast. Roads across the region are impacted including in Southern Humboldt county.
According to Caltrans District 1, Highway 1 is completely closed near Leggett from post mile 104.12 to 105.5 due to a slide. There is currently no estimated time for reopening. Caltrans advised motorists to check QuickMap for the latest updates.

Storm impacts extend beyond the Highway 1 closure. The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page reported Branscomb Road near Highway 1 is blocked by downed trees. In addition, State Route 162 to Covelo was listed as having an unknown traffic hazard.
The storm has downed trees and knocked out power. An estimated 250 PG&E customers are without power as of 2:30 p.m.
