In other news, the sky was blue today and water was wet. The sun also rose in the east as forecast. 🤣🤷♂️
I was thinking much of the same, and then I remembered how many times I’ve checked out the site and nothing new was going on. Slow news is better than no news.
The bad part about a slow news day is that that’s when the deer start getting hit by cars…
“No news is good news”…

Deer have this strange habit of jumping out onto the highway when you least expect it. I have noticed more deer being hit or killed in the evening hours than during the daylight. I assume they think the food is better on the other side, but I think the deer had hit and run on its mind. Glad no one was severely injured or worse.
IIRC, deer are most active around dawn and dusk, going to find breakfast and going to bed. It’s good to remember this and drive appropriately.
I agree with you.
Oh deer
Wildlife salvage laws in California are feeding families and selling cars.
My friend bought a beater for five hundred. Ran over a one thousand pound elk with it, and used the wildlife salvage app on line.
Had the totaled beater hauled off for three hundred dollars, and loaded the elk into a buddies’ pickup.
Four hundred fifty pounds of meat at an average price of seventeen dollars a pound yielded seven thousand, six hundred and fifty dollars worth of prime protein, minus the cost of temporary registration for the beater.
Savings in feeding his family was six thousand dollars this year.
Pre-covid, I hit a deer coming back from Redding. It took out the front of my old car. The center of gravity is high and it crunched the hood too.
Yikes. Glad you made it. Would be more fair and just world if the deer only jumped out in front of Hummers or some other new expensive vehicle instead of folks getting round in old cars. Feel sorry too for the deer.
