Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Collision Reported on Indianola Cutoff Late Tuesday Morning

Pedestrian vs VehicleEmergency crews responded late Tuesday morning to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the Indianola Cutoff, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.

The incident, reported at approximately 10:26 a.m. near the 600 block of the Indianola Cutoff, involved a Ford Edge that ended up about five feet off the roadway, partially submerged in mud. Fire and EMS arrived quickly on scene, and traffic was reported to be partially blocked as they worked the area.

Pacific Towing was dispatched to recover the vehicle, and CHP requested additional coordination with local agencies, including the Eureka Police Department.

Details about the pedestrian’s injuries have not yet been released, though medical aid was requested at the scene.

We just have way too many vehicle verses pedestrians in our local area. I hope the pedestrian will be ok. I wonder if the Ford Edge driver tried to miss the person and ended up about five feet off the highway. I hope the driver is ok also.

I hope your dad is ok. A broken ankle is no fun. From the map it looks like this was close to the round a about, where people should be slowing down, and paying attention.
