Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 South of Crescent City Causes Traffic Delays

A multi-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 101 northbound, just south of Crescent City, led to traffic delays Monday morning as emergency responders and tow crews worked the scene.

The crash, reported around 9:20 a.m. near mile marker 20.3, involved at least three vehicles, including a Dodge Avenger with front-end damage. According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page, an ambulance was requested for what were described as possible minor injuries. Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office deputies and fire personnel also responded.

Firefighters arrived on scene within 13 minutes of the reported collision, and tow services were requested to clear the roadway. Affordable Tow of Crescent City was dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles.

Traffic on Highway 101 in the crash area remains snarled as units worked to clear the roadway. Please use caution if traveling in the area.

‘Avenger’ is an interesting name for a vehicle with front-end damage involved in a collision. Ah, marketing!
