Late-Night Crash off Frontage Road Near Trinidad

A vehicle carrying five people veered off the roadway late Friday night near Trinidad, leaving two occupants with minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.

The crash was reported at 11:46 p.m. in the area of 900 to 921 Frontage Road. Early reports indicated the vehicle might not be visible from the road, and multiple parties were believed to be injured.

By 11:58 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office confirmed all five occupants were out of the vehicle and no major injuries had occurred. Two people were treated for minor injuries.

No – it is referring to the frontage road on the other (east) side of the highway that dead ends at the trailhead to Strawberry Rock. Old Hwy 101 is now Scenic Drive south of Trinidad and Patrick’s Point Drive north of Trinidad.

CalPoly kids frequent Strawberry Rock which is at the end of Frontage Road. Really nice hike. Muddy during rainy season. Four miles round trip. A hiking app will guide you. Easy peasy.
