An important artery at Smith River. Luckily traffic can still connect to the 199 north of crescent City with a short trip down the 101 . Be prepared for heavy traffic either way.

The rock slide on South Fork Road will not hamper travel on either US 199 or US 101. It only affects residents of Big Flat who will now have to use French Hill Road to get to US 199 and then to Crescent City.
