Todd Dewane Vizenor
June 24th, 1964-August 20th, 2024Todd Dewane Vizenor passed away on August 20th, 2024, at his home in Gilbert, Arizona. His final resting place was at Falconer Funeral Home in Gilbert, AZ. He was born on June 24th, 1964, in Eureka, California, to his parents, Dale Vizenor and Ava Sandberg, and grew up in Humboldt County. Todd loved spending time at the Cabin with family on the Van Duzen River. He started his first career as a Paper Boy, which he used to buy his first bike. He attended Eureka High School, where he thrived in sports and academics, and went on to attend Humboldt State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He later moved to the greater Bay Area and began to work at the University of California, Berkley as an auditor from 1997-2008. From 2008 to 2016, he continued to work at UC Berkeley in the Controller’s Office, focusing on contracts and grants. From 2016 to 2020, he worked at the University of California, San Francisco, also in the Controller’s Office. Todd has had a variety of experiences in his career from working in places like Monterey, CA to South Korea, and later to Kenya on a work trip.
Todd was very dependable, and frequently committed to his profession while always putting family first. A selfless father, who would stop at nothing to provide and teach his children, giving them all the guidance they needed to excel in life. He was very invested in family, specifically researching and documenting his family lineage and enjoying following various sports. He made various donations, including to the White Earth Nation. Todd had a passion for his birds which he fed daily and protected from the bullying pigeons. Todd was able to build so many beautiful connections with an incredible amount of people due to his amazing character, his jokes, and his laughter which was unique and contagious. Todd is survived by his three sons: Cayden and his wife Jasmyn, Kolton, and Landen. Also, his two brothers, Troy Vizenor and his wife Nancy, as well as Craig Vizenor and his wife Marci. In addition his grandson Myles, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. All family and friends are welcome to join us to honor the life of Todd Vizenor at his service Friday, September 13th at 1:00, at the Women’s Club, located at 1531 J Street, Eureka, CA 95501.
