Chip Seal Project to Begin on Portion of State Route 36 in Trinity County
Press release from Caltrans District 2:
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and American Pavement Systems, Inc. are preparing to begin work on the Mad River Preservation Project on State Route (SR) 36 in Trinity County. The $2.6 million project will place an asphalt rubber chip seal with areas of concrete dig outs on SR 36 near Mad River, from the Humboldt/Trinity County Line to 4.1 miles east of South Fork Mountain Road. Other work on the project includes fog sealing on paved shoulders in the project area and striping.
Construction activities are currently planned to start on Monday, June 8. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 15-minute delays, Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by the end of July.
