The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is proud to announce a generous $5,000 donation from Ginger Weber, President of Premier Financial Group, and her husband, Mike Weber, presented on May 18, 2026, to support water rescue preparedness in Humboldt County.
The donation funds the purchase of 10 water rescue kits that will be placed in HCSO patrol vehicles throughout Humboldt County. These kits will help ensure deputies are equipped to respond quickly and effectively when first on scene during water rescue emergencies.
The donation was presented to Humboldt County Sheriff Honsal alongside Bob and Monica Marinez and their granddaughter, Jalyssa, whose lives and family were forever changed following the tragic loss of their son, Kaden, in a boating accident in September 2025. Their presence at this presentation highlights the importance of preparedness, response, and community support during emergencies.
As temperatures rise and more people head to local rivers, beaches, and waterways, HCSO encourages the public to remain vigilant and practice water safety. While sunny weather may make conditions appear inviting, local water temperatures remain dangerously cold, even during warmer months. Swift currents, changing tides, hidden hazards, and cold-water shock can quickly turn a recreational outing into an emergency.
Be sure to always wear a life jacket, avoid entering unfamiliar waters, check conditions before heading out, and never underestimate the power of local waterways.
Thanks to the generosity of the Weber Family and Premier Financial Group, deputies across Humboldt County will be better equipped to respond when every second matters.
