Lake County…always the fire next time…
Hoping CalFire can mobilize a couple of air tankers before more homes are lost.
that fire didn’t stand a chance. nice work.
this is in lakeport not clearlake
She is talking about the Lake (Clear Lake) not the City (Clearlake) in the headline and story.
Yes.
However “New fire erupts near Clear Lake…..” can mean 2 very different things. I would suggest you consider making that delineation when titling the photo. “…erupts near Clear Lake….” is too vague. That could mean a new fire erupted anywhere around the lake, or, it could mean it erupted near the town of Clear Lake.
Headlines are not intended to carry all the information needed. They need to be accurate and give a quick understanding so if readers can decide if they are interested enough to open the article. The first sentence of the article adds more detail in this case. “A new wildfire has ignited on the west side of Clear Lake near Highway 29 in Lake County.” In addition, the body of water is two words–Clear Lake. The town is one word, Clearlake.
Yeah, Kim must not know Lake county very well. Thus part of Hill road is right by the Lakeport Cemetery.
Oops. Kym I meant.
Clear Lake is a body of water that most people in northwestern California know. I used it as a reference not the town of Clearlake.
Thank you Kym. I got it, the gist that is, from the headline.
Full disclosure, however, I didn’t know there was a town with the same name, nor a H29. I just use H20 to get from H101 to I-5 and back. Now I do. See? We can learn something new from Kym everyday.
🤔🧐,
I’m still trying to get my head wrapped around Ukiah Creek and Hensley Creek being used interchangeably…
😉
Another fire near Clear Lake. Wonder if it was caused by power lines, something in or around a home, mowing grass, etc. It is so sad that some folks have lost their homes to the fire. I pray no one will be injured or killed. Cal Fire and other first responders did a fantastic job of getting the fire contained and mostly out. You guys rock!
Does Sun shining on Obsidian flakes start Clear Lake fires?
Maybe not “on” but perhaps through if it is thin enough and shaped right. Maybe? Nature’s way of killing ants but sometimes dry brush becomes the focal point instead.
