The Eureka Police Department says a barricaded subject situation near 16th and P streets has stabilized, with one person detained, as officers remained on scene Wednesday afternoon.

EPD Public Information Officer Rachel Sollom told Redheaded Blackbelt, “We are still on scene however situation is stabilized with one detained.” Sollom said the department would release more information later in the day.

EPD and CARE unit personnel had been on scene since earlier Wednesday, according to a public safety advisory that asked drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

This is a developing story and will be updated when EPD releases additional information.
