This morning, a traffic collision occurred on State Route 299 west of the U.S. Highway 101 interchange, leading to significant delays. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received the call at 9:26 AM regarding a head-on collision involving a Dodge Challenger and a Mercedes Sprinter van.

Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, and although one person involved declined medical assistance, an ambulance is still en route. The extent of any injuries is unknown at this time.

Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage, and Buddy’s Towing was contacted to remove the damaged vehicles.

The connector to southbound 101 remained blocked as crews worked to clear the scene, causing traffic to back up in the area. Please use an alternate route if possible.

I drove by just after it happened. No EMS was on scene yet. It appeared the Challenger took the 15 mph 101 SB to 299 east offramp a bit hot and hit the front left of the van.

Some people that drive the Dodge Challengers have no brains and even less skills.

As far as I am concerned fewer and less mean the same thing. Do you drive a Dodge Challenger?

Don’t hug the center divider. Instead get over to the right as far as is legal. This will give you a couple of extra seconds to avoid a head-on when the oncoming driver enters your space. Expect an accident when you drive.
