[UPDATE 4:38 a.m.: Live Stream From the Campus] Arrests of Students at Cal Poly Humboldt as Law Enforcement Pours Onto Campus

Screenshot from Ryan Hutson's live coverage

Screenshot from Ryan Hutson’s live coverage

Large numbers of law enforcement descended on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus about 2:45 this Tuesday morning.

Students are linking arms and huddling in the quad as officers peel off a protester or two at a time and take them away.

“You don’t need to do this. You are better than that,” one protester calls out.

Live coverage from the campus by Ryan Hutson here:

We’ll continue updating.

UPDATE 3:35 a.m.: We have learned that KRCR reporter Adelmi Ruiz was arrested detained while livestreaming. She was heard asking for help.

Our reporter Mark McKenna filmed one protester being placed in a police wagon.

UPDATE 4 a.m.: Reporters for KRFH are saying over 20 protesters were arrested. They report one medic was also arrested.

By rough estimate there are over 100 law enforcement officers on scene. We believe that Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies have now joined the out of county law enforcement on campus.

UPDATES 4:38 a.m.: Our reporter Ryan Hutson is back live again.

UPDATE: Over 100 Officers Poured Into Campus Last Night; 35 Arrested, Says Cal Poly Humboldt

How is it these protesters get all riled up over 30,000 dead in Gaza and not a peep about twenty times as many, 600,000 Ukrainians killed in Dementia Joe Biden’s CIA proxy war Op, if not antisemitism motivation? The world hasn’t seen anything like this since the Nazis in 30’s and 40’s

Kym started an X thread so let’s hope that increases worldwide awareness of the half million killed in Ukraine and Gaza conflicts fueled by Biden’s neverending weapons deliveries. It’s as if puppetmasters controlling Biden’s teleprompter script (the real “President”) want a Neverending WW3 to divert attention from their Fascist takeaway of our Constitutional freedoms.
Vote anyone but the Fascist Biden Regime ’24!

The headline is clickbait. Read the text where people are quoted. NO ONE STATES IS HAS HAPPENED. ONLY THAT IT IS ALLEGED TO HAVE HAPPENED.

Read the language in your own article. It’s very, very doublespeak so that they can retract it as needed. “There are reports that the hands of some of these bodies were also tied,” and “were allegedly older people, women and wounded, while others were found tied with their hands…tied”

All it takes are a few photos from AP or some other 3rd party to demonstrate whether or not this happened. In the meantime, the UN is stating “reports” and “allegedly”. They themselves are signalling they don’t have solid information.

And yes, if the IDF did it, let’s have a mass hanging after a war crime trial.

The police may legally use the amount of force necessary to make an arrest.

And after being met with resistance and violence last Monday is it any surprise they came prepared and in force?

Especially since they knew the occupiers were preparing for clashes with police.

But other than linking arms it looks like early arrestees are not fighting the police. I truly hope it continues that way.

I hope the instigators trying to provoke a violent confrontation aren’t too disappointed.

The key element to every successful battle is to fight smart, not stupid. Taking on the cops in the street is fighting stupid, because that’s the cops’ home field where they have every advantage.

If you want any chance of winning vs the police, you do it in court, which is a neutral arena.

You clearly don’t have a strong grasp on the history of protest movements as their impact.

Inducing police use of force that can be documented and spread through the media is a time tested tool for building public sympathy. That effect is likely exaggerated in the current context where more and more people view the police as excessively violent

Students have no business defacing property and keeping others from class. Spreading hate and antisemitism is disgusting. THEY are on the wrong side of history. Do they even know why they are protesting? If they did, I think they may be ashamed. Stop this madness and go home young people and read your history books and more importantly the Bible. You will get the real story. Stop this hatred.

Of course the aggressive and violent Police Gang clad in Military Gear acted under the darkness of night, just like they slam mom and dads to the ground during their early morning raids on Cannabis farms. They took advantage of the fact the community was sleeping to escalate this to the net level. Of course they cleared the cameras and media and even arrested the media, this is because they don’t video proof of their escalation, they don’t want the film to be aired cause it will bring in more support and community involvement. But in all reality the Protest is not over at Cal Poly Humboldt, it has only just begun.
More protestors will be arriving and the arrestees will be back. The community is waking up this morning
This is only the start of the protests and civil unrest. As Israel’s slaughter and Genocide continue so will the local and international protests. Busloads of protestors are heading north and South to Cal Poly HUMBOLDT as I write this.
Mark my words.

They are dressed and armed for violence. They chose the darkness of night to hide their violence from cameras and citizens and the media. Just like thieves in the night, just like the Eel River Rangers and Humboldt Rangers used to attack and kill Natives Americans in this county…. Everyone of those cops is defending genocide. They are supporters of genocide.
Many people and community members are gathering this am at Cal Paply Humboldt. This is not over, the protests have hardly began, look at Columbia. Nothing has ended, this is only the 1st day of arrests and civil disobedience.
Mark my words!

No matter how the entire situation ultimately ends, if there is even one person killed…oh…there will be an entirely new situation on a much grander scale that will commence consisting of plaintiffs attorneys, city attorneys, the California Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Education, county courts, state courts, and the federal courts, ad infinitum. The action will go on for years and years and the costs will be substantial on a whole host of fronts. In the very near term, Cal Poly Humboldt President Tom Jackson is history and will likely disappear both for being the face of incompetence and for his own personal safety. Cal Poly Humboldt is badly wounded from this situation and will likely be reeling from it for years.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) —

” The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court said Wednesday she has launched an investigation into alleged Israeli crimes in the Palestinian territories, plunging the court into the midst of one of the most fraught conflicts of the past half century.

The decision drew a swift Israeli condemnation, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accusing the court of hypocrisy and anti-Semitism, and vowing “to fight for the truth.”

The prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, said in a statement the probe will look into “crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court that are alleged to have been committed” since June 13, 2014, and that the investigation will be conducted “independently, impartially and objectively, without fear or favor.”

The decision in effect turns the court’s focus on two key Israeli policies of recent years: its repeated military operations against Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip, highlighted by a devastating 2014 war, and its expansion of Jewish settlements in east Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.”…

…”Bensouda said in 2019 there was a “reasonable basis” to open a war crimes probe into Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip as well as Israeli settlement activity in the occupied West Bank.”…

Hamas and Palestine are not one and the same, yet the treatment of Palestinians by Israeli does not reflect this difference.

The US propaganda machine, heavily influenced by Israeli and supporting interests, is not going to tell you the truth of the situation. Of course any questioning of Israeli actions is met with screams of “antisemitism!!!” and the media is all too willing to back their “do no wrong” attitude.

Basically Hamas gave Israel the excuse they have always wanted to permanently displace the Palestinians.

The pro-Palestinian protesters at Harvard were chanting that they were Hamas. The Palestinian people elected Hamas as their government, and during all of these protests against Isreal, these protesters never condemned the actions of Hamas. Even the reports of Hamas using citizens as shields, or highjacking the aid being sent in to Gaza.

Both sides are responsible for this conflict in the middle east. The hate these people have for each other has been going on for centurries and neither side work for peace.

Hamas is responsible for bringing the hate to our college campuses through propaganda that hides the slaughter they committed.

The pro-Palestinian protesters who believe that protesting means you should be exempt from responsibility of intimidation and vandalism are wrong. Self righteousness prohibits compromise and true acceptance of differences.

Do you have proof it was Israel that did that?
You do know Hamas will do it also and point fingers.
Hamas clearly said to Palestinian people if you leave we will kill you.
They did that cause they knew Israel wouldn’t hurt innocent civilians.
So stop blaming an Israel for what a known terroirs regime is doing.

Your really a believer that Israel could never do that right? Is the United Nations Investigators lying to protect the Palestinians? I don’t think so, perhaps you have ego identified with Israel and Naetanyahu to the point you can not see the truth even when the United Nations and the International Criminal Court has proof of Israel committing mass murders and mass genocide. Israel stated they would kill every last Palestinian, and they are making good on their statement! Did Netanyaju lie, not at all, he is committing the Genocide he promised.
targeting of a particular racial group — constitute the punishable crime of genocide. Experts — such as the former Chief Prosecutor for the ICC — are now emphasizing that the 17-year-long siege of Gaza can also be considered genocide under Article II(c).

Under this umbrella, a number of different offenses can be cited; adding to the conspiracy to commit genocide, there is evidence of Israeli propaganda, considered to be incitement, by political and media figures. The premise of the disproportionate attacks has been based on lies — including the beheading of babies — all of which have been debunked by not only international human rights groups but even by Israeli sources, such as Ha’aretz.

Wow. Amazing. Up here on high, floating in the sky, I can see all with my satellite eye. In the year 2020 there were the BLM riots, where police stood by and watched your cities burn. Soon after, censorship of individuals leaning to the right of the political spectrum started to be censored on social media. The right wing of America deemed themselves “free speech absolutists” wherein all speech, including hate speech, is protected under the First Amendment. The lines were drawn or so people thought, the Left and the Globalists vs the Right and the Populists. Fast forward to 2024, a man named George Soros, a Jew and a Globalist, seizes on the opportunity presented by the civil unrest caused by the Israel/Gaza war. George Soros is and always has been, an Agent Provocateur. This man starts to fund not just the anti-Israel/pro-Gaza protestors, but as it recently came out he is also the money bag behind the pro-Israel counter-protestors. This has been money well spent, as you can see. In Texas, Governor Greg Abbot had signed a law protecting free speech and protest on campus a mere three weeks before he deployed the national guard to crush people exercising their right to free speech and protest on campus, this is a perfect example of what I can see ol George has achieved.

1.Soros has managed to pull the populist right back into the globalist fold, now marching in lockstep with the globalist left on the issue of free speech and free assembly.
2.Neither the Right nor the Left apparently believe in free speech or freedom of assembly, especially given the fact that the protest the right are demanding to be crushed ARE peaceful, especially when compared with the violent BLM riots of 2020.
3.Criticism of Israel is now being conflated with anti-semitism, anti-semitism is illegal, if criticism of Israel is conflated with anti-semitism, then criticism of Israel becomes illegal.
This is a dangerous place for America to be. Scoreboard: Soros 3, America 0.

Maybe you already know, that you, Kym, made the Times:

When university administrators across the nation worry about the potential fallout from campus protests, they may have Siemens Hall in mind.

The building at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt, includes the campus president’s office and has been occupied for a week by pro-Palestinian protesters who barricaded themselves inside and fought off an early attempt by the police to remove them. Protesters have since tagged walls and renamed it “Intifada Hall” by ripping off most of the signage on the brick exterior.

Inside, they painted graffiti messages like “Time 2 Free Gaza,” “Pigs Not Allowed,” and “Land Back,” according to a video posted by the local news site Redheaded Blackbelt. They occupied and defaced the office of the president, Tom Jackson Jr., spraying “Blood On Your Hands” across one framed wall hanging and “I Will Live Free or Die Trying” on his door.

Hey … get the crack reporters to crack the money and organization … the money and job offers will come pouring in. Maybe a Pulitzer!

If your making the claim then the burden of proof that your insane belief that this protest was “paid for” is on you!
Give us one bit of proof…..
But you can’t because this has been concocted in a false reality;
Face it, you have no proof, cause it’s bullshit. I call Bullshit

About time those terrorists are delt with.
Anyone who stormed into a home, school, or a business, barricaded themselves in, destroyed things, and made threats a demands should be treated as a terrorist.
And anyone encouraging it should also be.

Would you be ok if they entered your homes and did that? I doubt it.

Bahahaha, they one when the police arrested them as the protests will grow and they did an excellent job of garnering international media attention to stop murdering civilians and to stop the slaughte and genocide by Israel.
Thank you protestors! You did a great job, keep up the hard work! It is paying off

Smart move by law enforcement to move in, during the middle of the night.

Protestors are essentially asleep. General public is essentially asleep, and is not readily available to converge on CPH to interfere further with any arrests.

Well played.

In America that is when it gets spooky, in Palestine where doctors and reporters wear civilian clothes in order to reduce chances of being targeted by the IDF reporters would love to be arrested rather than being murked, even though no one wants to be tortured

They would here if they could, you can see the aggression and hate the cops brought with them to the campus in the many videos on tiktok.

The cops don’t want the video and media getting out, I also heard they were erasing peoples hard drives and destroying equipment of reporters and stealing students phones and erasing them to hide the oppressors misconduct. That’s why law enforcement came at night and wore masks like criminals; so they could not be identified.

Unfortunately, an arrest will do little to stop this nonsense.
Expulsion is the way. Without that, it is nothing more than a very expensive show, funded by the taxpayers.

They know everything already – just ask them – so they’re wasting their time at school anyway. Expulsion wouldn’t hurt any of them, and would be a better education than they would have received in class.

The school’s been shut down, haven’t completed coursework, and can’t have finals, nobody should get credit for the semester instead come back next year and try again. Oh, and be sure to thank the demonstrators.

Nah, it was political to turn the campus against the protestors, there was absolutely no reason to close campus and ahut down graduation, except that the students were already making plans not to shake the administration hands.

Who’s funding the billions of dollars being sent to Israel for their nasty little genocide? Taxpayers? This “very expensive show” is absolutely nothing in comparison. I don’t agree that graffiti was a good idea. They did not breach the university President’s office, as agreed upon. That report was a lie. They agreed to use chalk for their messages and did. I looked at what needs to be cleaned up and it’s been greatly exaggerated. I don’t agree with any damage. But the protesters overall were quite tidy and most messages were peaceful: Free Palestine. I think the protesters were sincere and very brave in their cause. Thanks to the reporters who gave us truthful coverage. The administration did the worst possible job in handling this. Bravo students.

I think KRCR may be wrong! The reporter may have an alternate last name. I am strongly against press being arrested and I appreciate this site and the people working so hard to get this information out.

What cowards these out of town cops are. Can’t even make the arrests under light of day?

Hundreds of actual community residents show up to support the students during normal hours. Many would likely stand beside the students and be arrested with them if necessary. But I guess the cops were too scared to make arrests in daylight while people can see their name tags… What a bunch of ducking cowards. Obvious they know what they’re doing is wrong if they wait till 4am to do it.

I commend the admins for finally taking action and law enforcement for what appears to be a well executed operation.
A lot of these kids should get a break as they are young and don’t know anything.
The faculty is another issue as they are partly responsible for the kids not knowing anything and were enablers of the chaos. I’m guessing they were home safely in their beds when this all went down.
President Jackson, be bold and replace activist faculty with teachers more dedicated to educating their students rather than indoctrinating them.

100 cops to deal with 20 college kids…yet we cannot seem to figure out how to deal with murdering cartels who traffic drugs and PEOPLE.

There are major crime issues in this country, yet THIS is where those who “protect and serve” spend their effort.

Low hanging fruit, low risk, lots of overtime. All paid for by you and I (I assume you actually work.)

The police state jackboot thugs is here, and this could be YOU anytime they decide.

Statement from CPH:
On Tuesday, April 30 at about 0230, law enforcement began a series of actions to restore order on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus.

Law enforcement cleared and secured Siemens Hall and Nelson Hall East, as well as the area near those buildings. About 25 individuals were arrested, without incident. There were no injuries.

The operation was carried out by Unified Command, which is made up of law enforcement personnel from throughout the State of California under the leadership of Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal and University Police Department Chief Peter Cress.

Protesting is legal, how ever vandalism is not neither is stealing.. what has been done to cal poly will take a long time to fix and cost a fortune to do so.. protesting is not going to stop a war the problem is beyond the USA regardless of other countries involved, we could all hope for the best outcome , doesn’t mean it will happen , instead care for your family and friends, most importantly your selves, we live in dangerous times…

Thankfully the grown-ups that run the university stopped sitting on their hands and tossed the little lawbreakers in jail. The right is to peaceful assembly – nothing else. You can’t seize land, you can break windows or takeover buildings.

No surprise that Dem establishment is really slapping down this pro Hamas movement.
DNC realizes that Hamas support costs them votes and this is a prez election year.
Also, if DNC replaces Biden with Newsom, DNC and Newsom don’t want rest of USA to fully realize how profoundly screwed up California is politically.

Happy to see everyone being so responsible and wearing masks while outside to stop the spread!
Even when protesting masks are an essential part to us all staying healthy.
I have to wonder how many millions of dollars this cost our community, the state, and the college? Oh well it just money. Atleast they masking up while defacing a library in the name of peace. 🙃

Both sides, Israel and Palestine, teach their children to hate the other. Two wrongs don’t make a right. The protestors don’t seem to understand that being Pro Palestine, is pro antisemitism. Dig deeper people, this situation is centuries old.
