Safe Exit Offer: Cal Poly Humboldt Provides Opportunity for Occupants to Leave Buildings Without Immediate Arrest

Press release from Cal Poly Humboldt:

As part of an ongoing and urgent effort to protect life and safety in the ongoing crisis of occupied buildings, Cal Poly Humboldt is offering any of those currently in the buildings the opportunity to leave with a guarantee of no immediate arrest. This does not, however, eliminate University conduct-related sanctions or legal implications.

Those who walk out peacefully by the deadline will not be immediately arrested and will be able to leave campus without being arrested. In addition, voluntarily departing in this way will be considered as a mitigating factor in University conduct processes and may reduce the severity of sanctions imposed.

This offer is open until 4 p.m., Friday, April 26.

The offer applies to both students and non-students who are currently occupying buildings and illegally camping around them.

The individuals inside the buildings were told about this opportunity earlier today. They are also being notified by email and other communications channels.

A number of individuals have continued to occupy Siemens Hall since Monday, and have made efforts to occupy other buildings on campus. While the situation is largely stabilized, there is continuing destruction of property and other lawlessness in the central part of campus. This has caused complex operational challenges that require the closure of other facilities on campus. The occupation is having a negative impact on other students, who are trying to complete classes at the end of the semester

The Cal Poly Humboldt campus is closed through the remainder of the semester, and work and instruction continue to be remote.

Ongoing updates are available at humboldt.edu/emergency.

And if they don’t leave?

It’s pretty clear if they don’t leave they’ll be removed, forcibly if necessary. Minimum charges are likely to be trespassing and resisting arrest.

By the way, does anyone remember what the protest was about?

Because the knuckleheads involved, instead of making it about divestment, have made it about holding the building and showing how the police and CPH admin. are a bunch of meanies.

Well, it’s always nice to give people options.

Why do police get to protests early?

To beat the crowd.

Then there is the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR). The Soros-founded organization Open Society Foundations, which is now run by his son Alex Soros, has reportedly contributed $300,000 to the USCPR since 2017, while the Rockefeller Brothers Fund has given it $355,000 in the past five years.
“USPCR provides up to $7,800 for its community-based fellows and between $2,880 and $3,660 for its campus-based ‘fellows’ in return for spending eight hours a week organizing “campaigns led by Palestinian organizations,” Vincent notes.
The article highlights three USCPCR’s radical fellows at several campuses: Malak Afaneh, Craig Birckhead-Morton, and Nidaa Lafi.
Afaneh, who went viral after disrupting a dinner for Berkeley Law School graduates at the residence of Jewish Dean Erwin Chemerinsky and his wife earlier in April, is a fellow for the USPCR and has spoken frequently at anti-Israel demonstrations in recent days, according to the Post.

That’s a good one.

Smile for PoPo pics on the way out, “without immediate arrest”. Arrest and expulsion next week will be fine.

Neutron bomb? They will be leaving since there will be nobody caring or having to see them for the rest of semester. The college is closed, now the circus act is over with no audience. Barnum and Bailey ended. Their entire scheme just got blown apart and blew up in their faces. Call the Democrat party and tell them to stop using naive dimwits, mask wearing goons, and low IQ imbeciles like Joe Biden for their color revolution.

The university is getting phone calls suggesting they employ that very tactic intentionally.
I know there were people who wanted to expel students who protested the war in Vietnam when those protests were occurring on campuses, so I’m not surprised to see that same sentiment resurface- but this seems particularly mean-spirited.

Really? I don’t see the situations as being remotely analogous. You’re also forgetting Jackson State. Both were atrocities but only one is widely remembered.

Those who don’t leave peacefully by the deadline should be expelled.

Very simply drag their ass out end of subject. Should have been done 3 days ago. Also those camping around the building need to be removed.

Actually I am going to disagree with you to a point.

They have a right to their viewpoint and so called hate speech no matter how popular or unpopular. What they don’t have a right.to is vandalism and taking over the campus area.

In to 70s a Jewish lawyer took the case for free of some nazis that were denied a permit for a rally. When asked why he would defend the very people that hate him he said as soon as we deny anyone their viewpoint and curtail the 1st amendment in any way.we have started down the very path the nazis took.

If I remember right he had lost family in the holocaust.

The protestors need to STAND UP to the vandals and thiefs because they are fing it up for the people trying to say something. Students shouldn’t have the classes they paid thousands of dollars to attend changed into a potentially inferior quality because of bad actors within this event. If they don’t want the cops to, don’t agree with how they will get what we all want, peaceful protest, THEY have to STAND UP to the vandals and thiefs. Otherwise yall just violent rioters so far as the right is concerned.

Where were these protesters when Hamas slaughtered over 1000 innocent civilians simply because they were Israeli?

So, as disgusting and heartbreaking as that attack was, it happened only once and it wasn’t supported or funded by the US. The Cal State University system doesn’t invest in mutual funds whose portfolios include Hamas.

The Israeli campaign in Gaza has killed the equivalent of the Oct 7 attack each week for the past 6 months, using US weapons and with US diplomatic support. Do you see the difference?

Just like the communist agenda of California. I say close the university permanently. It’s worthless, just as most other schools in this state.

What this free pass BS is doing useless. What do you suppose would have happened if the Hamas terrorists (Palestinians) had invaded Israel, killed, vandalized and destroyed everything in site and the Israeli government simply said they could leave without being arrested or killed if they left by 4 pm. It’s a sign of cowardice to do nothing. Clearly the Palestinians are terrorists or this would not have happened. The CPH terrorists are exactly the same. They sided with Palestinian terrorists. The worst thing CPH can do is let them leave without consequences. It’s a bunch of spineless worthless “staff” opening the door for this terrorism activity to repeat itself time and time again. It comes very close to treason. They should all be arrested for domestic terrorism, a capital crime.
