Today, at 12:28 p.m., Cal Poly Humboldt announced that the campus will remain closed through May 10 and classes will continue online after attempts to remove or negotiate the removal of students protesting Israel’s war on Gaza and the support role the U.S. is providing.

CPH alleges, “The occupation of Siemens Hall and Nelson Hall East is causing ongoing inability to open other campus facilities. Since Monday night, protestors have attempted several times to break into multiple locked buildings with the intention of either locking themselves in, vandalizing, or stealing equipment. Vandalism and theft have continued across campus.”

The protests began late Monday afternoon, with protestors occupying Siemens Hall with tents and sleeping bags and eventually withstanding a law enforcement attempt to enter the building. The resulting clash videoed by our reporter Ryan Hutson has been shown across the country as news media covers a number of institutes of higher education being disrupted by protesters.

With security concerns in mind, the university says it has transitioned fully to a remote format in order to protect property and facilities and guarantee that educational and administrative operations can proceed without further interruption online.

Further details about adjustments to campus operations and remote work protocols are expected to be released in the coming days.

The Biden Regime thinks they own young women by defending third trimester abortions but young Americans have more issues, ergo this young lady…

“You know what absolutely sucks?”

“I am in my 20s right now”

“I want a house, I want kids, and I want to get married”

“But it seems so financially out of reach”

“It seems like it’s never going to get any better”

“I feel like we are playing into a hand that the government so desperately wants us to play into, to make us weak”

“We’re so divided”

I know Squirrel is easily distracted by misinformation, but you should probably keep the comments to the jail report if you’re going off topic.

They need to get them out of there. This is not fair to the people who want to go to school and graduate.

Too late. Looks like they’ve not disrupted the 95 billion dollar package Congress passed, and Ole Joe signed. Instead? They’ve f’d up classes, graduation for fellow students.

It’s SO peaceful outside Siemen’s Hall. Authorities are just trying to keep other students from joining in. Students are stressed and not being cared for with these unnecessary decisions!
Watch now. They will cancel the graduation ceremonies since students plan to NOT shake Tom Jackson’s hand!

Awwww, poor stressed students. Having to learn about life outside the classroom cocoon…maybe a group hug or a permanent trip back to mommy and daddy ?

Success!! International media from around the world as well as enormous amount of coverage from US media sources. I personally emailed over 50 media outlets. I am glad to see this as a success and a prior success for future protests at this campus. Momentum around the world is growing as protests against Israel’s killing, death and genocide war machine increase in size and demands to stop the indiscriminate killing of women and children grows louder and shuts down more highways and institutions like Cal Poly Humboldt.
Absolute success. Keep up the great work. Hopefully we will see both Netanyahu and Biden charged with war crimes and punished accordingly just like the Nazis in WW2.

Edward Snowden provides this map of campus protests, too many to count, CPH amongst elite group with arrests.
Stop the persecution of whistleblower Snowden!

If what you see happening is your idea of success, I feel very sorry for you.
In the eyes of many good people harmed by this action, it is an exhibition of Ignorance and hypocrisy.
Praise for disruption of civility is not helpful to anyone involved, and smacks of confused anger and narcissism.
You are not alone though, as you point out. Many people just don’t have the ability to rise above the level of misplaced thuggery.

You should apply for a posistion as a propagandist for the Biden administration or Hamas. All the patting yourself on the back for the whole 3 seconds they show on the news, and the mention of Cal Poly Humboldt almost sounds like it was mentioned in passing.

You and all these loser terrorists are just giving fuel to the “Leftys Losing It” on Sky News Australia. This whole thing shows how much of a failure the US is under wacco leaders.

Success would’ve looked like Congress an Old Joe not passing/signing support for war mongering around the world.

And further hasten the rigor mortis of the morbid local economy much to the chagrin of county merchants. In addition to starving the already paltry tax base and year round local residents who depend upon it.

The best thing that could happen to Arcata is total bankruptcy and CPH closure.

Let’s hope young Americans hold Biden accountable: he didn’t enforce Iran sanctions gifting them $100 billion they spent arming their proxies, attack, counterattack, Biden supplies neverending supply of bombs to flatten Gaza so there’s nothing for anyone to go home to. The Fascist Biden Regime has fueled conflicts in Ukraine and ME that killed more than half a million that would be alive today if not for Biden Regime.
Vote anyone but Biden Regime ’24!

It’s because politics are a spectrum, if you go far enough out on either side, you meet back in the middle. It helps understand what’s going on in our politics today. The nutters on both sides have met up.

They should make sure none of the involved students are allowed to graduate. If they intend to vandalize, steal and disrupt the campus they deserve to be expelled and not allowed to graduate. Those with student loans should never be allowed to have them reduced or forgiven until they pay for restitution of damages.

We do not negotiate with violent protestors who support Hamas terrorists, assault police officers, chant Death to America, trespass and vandalize Cal Poly. Each and every protesting student or person involved must be forcefully removed, arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We’re at war and this is not a peaceful protest. It’s time for law enforcement to stop sitting on their hands and do their job. Citizens have reached their limit with these traitors and are ready to take matters into their own hands.

Since when are we at war like you say, and with whom, do you suppose, and suggest, that we are at war with…???

Did I miss a US Declaration of War, or are you spreading dangerous untruths and false alarms…???

Be careful that you do not assault any of the Undercover FBI Informants “posing” as inflammatory protesters that are fanning the emotional flames trying to whip up and enrage anyone that is too easily influenced by such drama among the crowd…

They are trying to give otherwise peaceful anti war protesters a bad name…

This will do nothing but hurt enrollment. No parent wants to send their kid to a school in anarchy. Narcissistic behavior is poorly received by normal people.

They all need to go to the beauty salon, geezus. Open up the gym and let them work off 20-40 pounds, my god, what an embarassment.

“ Vandalism and THEFT have continued across campus.” How is this helping the people of Gaza? I haven’t seen quotes from a student or other person occupying the campus as to how theft and vandalism helps. Donate to charities that help with food and medical needs. This is disgraceful.

So much for the arrogant and once upon a time bravado-spewing Cal Poly Humboldt President Tom Jackson who has been exposed as weak, ineffective, and mute. Never guessed that such a situation would serve to shut him up so comprehensively.

If these people really cared, they would go to Gaza and help fight Israel. Talk is cheap. It is easy to sit where you are safe whining about how unfair life is while mommy and daddy support you. If you really believe in the cause, go fight. You are doing nothing to help the situation in Arcata. They always scream take action. STFU and do it. put your money where your mouth is.

I don’t think the US is proud of our actions in Vietnam. At least we targeted soldiers who were also armed, tho plenty of civilian “collateral damage”. Campus protests helped end that war. Students, most without families yet or necessary allegiance to job sites are thus more free to make public their opinions about national policy. Their protest action comes from ethics and patriotism; wanting to be part of a national future they can be proud of, and brave enough to take risks to do so. Every day I feel sick to think our weapons have murdered 34,000 unarmed civilians in Gaza.

I think these kids are on the right side of history. They are like college kids have ALWAYS been: passionate, confident and not very wise. It’s the chemicals coursing through your brain at that age.
I do think we need to bend Israel to our interest, the US interest, which is a two state solution. They are doing nothing to help us, only getting us closer to a big Middle East war. Our interest is a peaceful prosperous mid east. Financial pressure is the best way since Israel is 100% reliant on us for survival.
