Air Ambulance Requested for Occupant of Solo Vehicle Crash North of Myers Flat

Around 2:15 p.m. on November 3, a caller reported a solo vehicle off an embankment north of Myers Flat on Highway 101. Emergency personnel were sent to the scene which has been dubbed the Flat Incident.

According to the CHP log, the vehicle almost collided with another driver prior to the accident.

An updated location was given as Wilford Road at the cross of Hwy 254 (Avenue of the Giants). Emergency personnel are awaiting an ambulance to arrive for a single patient with moderate injuries, including suspected crush injuries. Redcrest Fire has been requested to assist in the establishment of a landing zone at the Dyerville Overlook.

Conflicting reports have been given about the vehicle involved. The initial CHP log listed the vehicle as a grey SUV, however a second cad entry listed the vehicle as a sedan. Subsequent scanner chatter with dispatch also called the involved vehicle a sedan.

The estimated arrival of the air ambulance is around 3:20 p.m.
